Ive found it to be pretty hard to WILD before you go to be for the first time.
Its easier to do it after you have had several hours of sleep.
But i've found it most easiest to WILD, is after you have been up for about 24 hours. Any time i'm up for 24 hours and i lay down and stay aware, my mind starts dreaming after the first 10 mins.

Depending on the night, I've found that staying up 24 hours isn't usually necessary. I've found that if you set your alarm to about 3am (assuming you go to bed at about midnight), then wake up, maybe get up and walk to your bathroom and back, you should be in the prime state to WILD...it works for me about half of the time, which, if you try every night is pretty good!
Good luck with WILD! It is one of my favorite ways to LD.

I'd suggest naps. You get recharged normally at night, then read to get groggy, and begin. I tried in every state, including WBTB, but napping got me the closest. But that's just me. Worth a try though.
ok i have another question....i have been hearing that you can have WILDs while awake if you are good at it. i have had a WILD just recently and i kinda find that hard to belive. im not totally discounting it but maybe if you had some aid such as drugs you could...maybe. i dont know plz right back
Deep meditation can put you into a dream state. That's what most of use believe that taoist monks call nirvana, which they reach during really deep meditation.
