      Various aspects to explore.

Hi there. I'm new here. My screenname is Nitroanarchygirl (various reasons I cant be bothered explaining ), my real name is Emmalee. I'm from Melbourne, Australia.

I thought I'd just post a general introduction sort of thread.

I have always had very strong dream recall, but I only learnt about lucid dreaming more recently. So far I have had 2 lucid dreams, both seemed to be triggered by emotion, which caused me to realise I must have been dreaming. I have read a lot on lucid dreams, but I find it hard to 'wake up' so to speak, as my dreams are often very bizarre that I become very engrossed in what is going on and find it hard to break away and become lucid. So far some of my dream signs are corridors, doors, hallways and my old primary school.

I recently also experienced sleep paralysis after waking up from a nightmare, which is possibly the first time I have had SP, or at least the first time I have remembered it.

As for myself, I am interested in learning more about dreams and my subconscious as I am pretty interesting in psychology. I also like art, music and photography. A few of my favourite bands are A Perfect Circle, The Clash, The Doors, The Offspring, Dream Theatre and Tool, but I like almost any kind of music. I love to draw and take photos, and enjoy singing and playing video games. Just a quick introduction. Hope to learn some stuff here and join in the community!

      Welcome!

Sounds like you are making good progress! The tutorial section has some great info. Browse around and see what interests you!

Lucid dreams can be a great place to explore aspects of your subconsious. For me that is one of the most fulfilling ways to spend a lucid dream.

It is hard to keep from getting caught up in your dreams. While awake, practice staying aware throughout the day. Maybe some of that awareness will carry over into your dreams.
