      Question about dream recall?

Sometimes when I wake up and try to remember a dream, I don't know if I'm actually remembering something from a dream or if my mind is making something up. Does anyone have any tips for remembering dreams and getting better at dream recall? I already have a dream journal, but are there other things that you can do?

      WELCOME TO DREAM VIEWS!!!!

Yes! There are all sorts of ways to remember dreams! The best way would be to write them down and keep a Dream Journal!

When writing down a dream, be sure to write down the important thigns first, like who the impornant people were, where you were at, and such and such.

If you have any more questions just PM me or the dream guide team! We don't bite :3

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Another thing you can try is if you remember a small piece of a dream write it down.. It doesn't matter if its something small, because the more small things you remember of dreams, the more and more you will begin to remember "Big things" in dreams.. Meaning.. If you remember a part of a dream, from 3 dreams, chances are down the road you will eventually get to the point where you can remember 3 dreams, or more a night... follow?

PM me as well if you have any questions

One good point is to do it immediatly after you wake up. It should be priority before you do anything else in the waking state.

I often find myself losing dreams completely unless I write them down or make memory paths, even though I have kept dream journal for 5 years.

Hi Welcome. Also what you can do is to tell yourselds that you will remember your dreams. Do it right before you go to sleep. Self affirmation helps alot with recall and LDing in general Feel free to PM me as well is you need any more help.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I did self affirmation, but only remembered one dream. I think I was semi-lucid in it as well. Thanks again.

Dream recall comes with practice, just like training your regular memory. Do a lot of dream journalling and your dreams will become easier to remember.

      Does it often happen?

Can you describe such a case in detail please?

It sounds a bit puzzling that you doubt about the nature of what you remember.
