Hi to all, and a question

Hey everyone, apparently I'm supposed to introduce myself here. I've been reading the forum for about a week, so I'm not new to the concept of lucid dreaming or anything.

I don't want this topic to be a total waste though, so I have a question to ask too. How does exercise right before bed affect lucid dreaming possibilities? I have a set of those "perfect push-up" things. Would it help or hurt or not affect at all my chances of having a lucid dream if I did my workout right before bed instead of earlier in the evening?

Im not sure how exercising before bed affects one's dreams but I do know that it affects one's sleep. From what I read, its bad to exercise within 3 to 4 hours of bedtime, this is b/c it stimulates your body and makes it very difficult to fall asleep. This is bad if you already have trouble sleeping so I wouldn't recommend exercising right before you go to sleep.

Good to know, thanks. I would be willing to bet that if you can't get to sleep, it might affect your ability to dream ;)

BUT! since it's harder to get to sleep, when you are asleep it would be easier to lucid dream am I correct?

Good point... does it just keep your body awake or does it stimulate your mind too, though? I dunno, it's hard for me to imagine that doing push-ups would stimulate a lot of brain activity that might help you stay concious while sleeping...

Well, I don't know. Sometimes taking longer to fall asleep can work against you. B/c while your waiting for your body to fall asleep, you might lose consciousness somewhere along the line. I found that the quicker my body is able to fall asleep, the easier it is to WILD, b/c I dont have to remain conscious as long.

I think physical exercise really only stimulates your body. Of course your brain is always being stimulated but Id imagine that reading a book, watching tv and/or playing video games would stimulate more activity in the brain than exercising would.
