my techniques thus far.

i've only been working on getting lucid dream for two days now but these are the techniques i use and i want to know if there's any more i can be doing, even as a noob. these are all done in waking life.

-once an hour or so i ask myself if i'm dreaming, to get in the habit of doing it all the time, especially in the dream
-once an hour or so make sure i am completely aware of my surroundings and my senses, done for about a couple minutes.
-write down at least two dreams a night. i can never remember the full ones but i do remembers the last half of each dream pretty well.
-right when i wake up from a dream, i ask myself if i was just dreaming, this reminds me that i am in fact awake right now, and should log in the dream right away.
-before falling asleep, i remind myself that i am in my bed, in my room, about to go to sleep, it would be impossible for me to be anywhere else next, so wherever i am or whatever i'm doing, it is surely a dream.

Do a reality check with the asking yourself if you are dreaming, sometimes your dream self would say no to "am I dreaming?"

Bingo! I think I am pretty aware during the day also, and I do ask myself if I'm dreaming at the moment, but in my dreams, I would simply say no. Because it's so real. I've come to the realization that it's not the question that I need to emphasize, but the word "dream". "Is this a dream?" The mere sound of the word might induce lucidity.

I agree, those ARE impressive! Usually my technique is limited to just lying down and reminding myself to try and have a lucid dream ...

I thought that doing a reality check every hour is a bit excessive, but I guess if it only takes a minute then it's cool. Of course even in a dream you might ask yourself if it's a dream, but see no reason why it is. You might want to go a step further and do more reality checks, like looking at a digital watch, some text, or your hand, to see if they look wrong or changing. How successful have you been?

i havn't been lucid yet, but like i said i've only been trying for a couple days. between last night and the night before i noticed my dream recall was much better though, so i'm very confident i'll have my first lucid dream within the next month or so.

Yeah,I haven't been doing too many reality checks...but i have been looking at the clock every so often to see if it changes dramatically (seems like a pretty easy way to check):?

those are good techniques. keep it up and you'll have your first lucid before you know it. i recommend reality checks as well like plugging your nose, turning on a litgh switch, stuff like that.

i'm excited. so far the only real hard part is the reality check. i just can't seem to even compute the possibility that i am dreaming in my dreams, like my dream self goes all half retarded or something. i could be surrounded by a thousand clocks, and smelling with a thousand noses, but it would never occur to me to think "this doesn't seem right"

i'm sure it'll get easier though.

You're doing everything right, but if I had one thing to suggest, I would say try using WBTB + MILD or WILD. I have found nothing to work better than that. It just seems to give me those "this doesn't seem right" moments you are talking about.

Hmmm... I think I just know that, as I'm going to sleep, whatever's gonna happen from this point on is going to be a dream. I'm not always lucid, but if I remember my dreams, I am lucid in them much more often than not. Also, lucidity isn't constant. I typically go in and out of lucidity. Now that you are obsessed with the notion, it should happen fairly easily. At least, that's how it was for me.

Yes as I noticed that I have been doing this for about 2 days now I could not recall a dream about only about once a month now I have had one two days ago and last night
