It's pretty simple. It's just the state of sleep in which you dream. Did you actually read the website? He explains it pretty thoroughly. If you are truly interested and didn't just skim through you would understand lol. He says there's 5 stages of sleeping. The 5th is REM. Your mind and apparently even your body is very active. He says your heart beats faster and your eyes move rapidly (Rapid Eye Movement = REM).

X_Knight, its the last stage of sleep (generally in the early morning) and when your dreams are the most realistic. Its when most people lucid dream.
Actually, REM sleep is the fifth stage of sleep, but not the only one where you dream. Dreams during REM sleep are much more fantastical and weird than NREM (non-rem) dreams, which are more to do about normal stuff and not totally insane, or so they say.
Your sleep cycle starts out Stage 1->2->3->4->5, then goes back to 4,3,2,3,4,5, and on and on. Over time, that fifth stage takes a longer period of time, which is why everyone always says that you should do these things about five hours into sleep. They're trying to get their bodies into that longer REM period so that they can have long crazy dreams.

No no no! I wasn't being hostile! I was just emphasizing that I only knew that from reading the home pages. Just in case I was wrong, I didn't want it to look like I thought I knew what I was talking about lol. Plus I was saying he should read the whole thing :wink:
