The first step..

I think I have only had one Lucid dream, but I only questioned myself if I was dreaming but due to the events of the dream I was sort of in a panic and woke up moments later.

I had a lot of free time last night from about midnight to 730 this morning and did some research on this. I took a 2 hour nap and already noticed things I hadn't. One dream was of me trying first hold onto then force a dream together only to be told by someone I was trying to hard.

I don't get much sleep during the week due to work, 5-6 hours a night. I was wondering if this might hinder my progress towards Lucid dreaming or what? And if so what might be some tips? Already started my dream journal, first log was about 20 minutes ago.

Well, I also only get about 6 hours of sleep a night, but I can tell you, it does affect lucid dreaming.

Not to the extent you would think. Generally things like WBTB or WILD are difficult for us that get less sleep, but DILDs and the like are quite possible. If you are like me and can't get up for a half hour or so each night, but still want the benefits of a WILD, give DEILDs a shot.

Otherwise, it shouldn't be too bad...

As long as you are still having dreams, you can learn to lucid dream. Like Delphinus said, long WBTBs or WILDs might be difficult to schedule, but there are lots of other methods. Try to keep your awareness up during the day, Reality Check like crazy, and keep writing down your dreams.

Hello Widdles55, and welcome to Dreamviews. To start you off, I'd advise you to keep at that dream journal! That is probably one of the best tools for a lucid dreamer. Also, your sleeping schedule does affect your dream recall and your chances of lucidity. I'd say getting a normal amount of sleep, and not deviating too much from your normal sleep schedule. Just keep at it and watch the lucids start rolling by! :D
