Is there a way to improve focusing???

I'm asking cause this morning I almost went back to sleep but actually didn't. When I was fully awake in my bed I remembered I saw & heard hypnagogic hallucinations (I'm at the door of a neighbor talking to him and I hear some guys from the upper floor beatboxing and rapping), at least I think that's what they were, but I guess there's like fine line I can't adjust to i.e. the line where I realise that these are only hallucinations while my conscious is awake. For me it can't be done simultaneously...it's either one...

Don't try to completely ignore those hallucinations. Following your hypnagogia is how you fall asleep, which you have to do for a successful WILD. Just be aware that they are hallucinations, and keep reminding yourself that it is not real.

I had something similar happen this morning. I woke from a lucid dream, and heard knocking at the door, children playing outside, ect. I knew I was just waking up from a dream, knew this was all hallucinations, but it didn't seem to matter. The disorientation that comes with the hallucination is pretty overwhelming.

Just be persistent, and keep reminding yourself it is not real. Keep your focus on your goal.

You probably did fall asleep, you just dreamed that you didn't.

If that happens again, try to do a reality check such as plugging your nose and trying to breathe through it or pushing a finger through the palm of the opposite hand. You may find yourself in an FA (False Awakening: you think you're awake but you're really still dreaming).
