Help Please!?!??1
I found out about Lucid Dreaming two weeks ago and have read anything i can get my eyes on. I have also decided to write my senior research paper on the topic.
So anyways... I have been recording my dreams in a journal and been doing reality checks on a regular basis throughout the day. But I cannot seem to get any progress in my dreams.
But This morning i stayed home from school and slept much later than I usually would. About an hour after i would have normally woken up I was awoken from my sleep by my dog jumping onto the bed, i imeditally fell back asleep and found myself in a dream.
I assume I was dreaming before I was woken up but i did not know it. In my dream i found myself in a square room with nothing else. I suddenly became aware that i was dreaming and did a reality check. But this is the part that confuses me. I almost always use a clock or try to push my finger through my palm when i do my regular reality checks. In my dream i leaned against a wall and fell through. as i fell through the wall, the room disappeared and i felt the extreamly real sensation of falling. as I fell i began to view my body from a above and everything rapidly faded into a black fog. the whole thing maybe lasted 10 or 15 seconds but it felt extreamly real.
What i would like to know is..."Was this the beginning of a Lucid Dream or not?" and what else can i do to experince one sooner.
thanks so much for reading and any help/advise would be awesome.

If you knew you were dreaming, then yes it was. DILD almost always occur at the end of dreams.
You could always try these.

First, of all Congratulations! Yes, you would have soon been lucid if you had stayed in the dream, good job!
It took me a lot longer than two weeks to have my first lucid, so congrats on that as well!
I hope you can take the time to stick around, keep looking around. Check out the Tutorials for some inspiration, as well as "how-to" info.

Thanks for the posts. Another question...Does listining to any type of music/white noise while falling asleep or while asleep help induce dreams?

Some people claim that listening to bineural beats help them get into LDs. Anything that keeps you relaxed and aware will help :)

Eating
My brother and I started experiments with LD'ing quite awhile ago. His latest idea is that eating certain foods before sleep can help. Personally, I have acid reflux, so that's a no-go for me. But something I thought you'd like to hear none-the-less. :)
