Hi out there...

After watching a cable TV programme last night (UK) about Lucid dreaming, it awoke in me the long ago memories I now recall about a period somewhere around the age of 12 to 14, when I used to control my dreams with almost absolute perfection. So much so, that bed time for me as a kid was never a sad or dull thing, rather more a time to enter my 'other' life or world of existance. What I do find strange about my being able to have controlled my dreams to such an extent, and at such a young age, is how I was able to do so without any instruction or knowledge of what lucid dreams were, or what they were about.
This morning after searching around cyberspace for much about Lucid Dreams and dreaming, I realise that so many of the techniques I find people using after following instruction from likewise sites and forums, I used to use freely and without instruction from anyone around me as a wee and innocent youngster?!? How was that possible?
I would add also that there were some periods of time during these 'real' dreams, when several horrifying dreams/nightmares began, that would repeat again and again and again, with barely any difference in the dream sequence, and more frightening was the fact that I could no longer control any aspect of the horror that was unfolding before my very eyes. The result was to wake in the middle of the night (just before first light usually), covered in sweat and trembling all over.
Gladly, these repeating nightmares ceased after the third or fourth in the series, where for me, the final horror dream seemed/appeared entirely real, and not a dream, and with very solid touchable objects and acute smells and colours and voices... Very scary as I knew I had lost my ability to control the dream.
I'd forgotten all about that horrifyingly scary final nightmare dream up until watching a TV series some few years aback now (Taken), where the EXACT beginning moments of my horror dream were unfolding before my very eyes all over again, and after all those years (40-odd years later), and those hot/cold sweats washed over me (its happening now as I write to some extent - its horrible) as my entire body started turning to ice. And then the trembling returns - just as it was back then.
I'll happily add some of those long ago controlled dreams and nightmares in a second post, it that's OK, but for now I'll sit back and see what you guys and gals are up to, with your own dreams and varying controlling situations.
I have to add that, whether it is related to those long ago dream controlling days/nights or not, one of the things that has remained with me almost always, is a strange ability to know when certain things (just very small things - not someone about to be assassinated or such) are about or going to happen, or apparently always seeming to know where I am going even when I'm lost!!! (Spent much time in mountains and wooded canopies and the like) To the point where people start to say: "How on earth did you know that?!?" This has other mild implications as people start to ask questions about this oddity after they've known me for some time...
Personally, I think it has something to do with an enquiring and oddly-calculating mind, and one that has remained, to a certain degree, quite childlike and free-spirited, unlike the current trend of many in these fast-paced and confusing and 'modern' times...
OK! I'm now freezing cold and shivering but feel I've gotten some things off my mind and re-opened some others.
