Hi. i am 15 and i want to lucid dream too. :)

i don't know if i am very good dream recall, but i can remember a hella lot of dreams. If you recommend a dream journal, that won't be a problem because i have two computers close to me so i can put it on the computer.

my total lucid dreaming experience = 3 seconds, by DILD (computer keyboard keys keep changing:shock:)

after which it was aborted and a false awakening happened, but i could not move. after that, it turned into a pre-lucid dream because there was no keyboard or text (more details at the bottem of the page) to do a reality check

anyway,
is is possible to do something like WILD-WBTB?
WILD is something i am curious about. as far as i know, it's like staying awake while falling asleep.

is it possible to abort WILD so you wake up (in reality)

is it possible to abort WILD during/after SP?, or is it that once SP starts, you are committed to lucid dreaming?


more information about the dream: it took place mostly in my school library, because that's where i fell asleep. but in the dream version, there were tube mazes (like the ones at ch-uh-key cheese:lol: (forgot how to spell, that happens sometime:lol:)). when i falsely woke up, after SP, i talked to someone, then woke up in reality.

Hey, welcome to DV :D You are definitely in the right place to learn to LD!!
Sounds like you've had quite a few false awakenings, I almost never remember having them but you can totally use those to your advantage, just reality check every time you wake up!

WILD is keeping your mind awake while your body falls asleep. Basically, learning to stay aware and lucid while your body goes to sleep and puts you into a dream. Most people recommend a WILD after doing a WBTB.

You can definitely wake yourself up from lucid dreams. You will not always get SP when attempting a WILD, though if you do find yourself in SP you can use that to help you WILD. You would not be committed to lucid dreaming... the only thing you're committed to during sleep paralysis is being paralyzed :tongue:

well, one time i had a dream where i had around 16 consecutive false awakenings in one dream. that was from either 2006 or 2007. i don't know if that's rare, being able to remember dreams from as far back as i can remember.

but in this particular dream, i only had one FA. after that i had SP. i dreamed that i had SP.

second: i meant that like if something happens, then can you wake yourself up (abort) during that?

third: back to the top paragraph, that dream was a normal dream. i hadn't taken any sedatives (like i am now) during that. i think i had so much false awakenings that, when i woke up in reality, i wasn't sure if i was still dreaming or not. when i figured out i wasn't dreaming, i was afraid, because the dream was about the apocalypse, and i don't want to die yet. i wasn't sure that the apocalypse would happen again. when it didn't, i was so happy to not have to go through that again. Note: i wasn't lucid at all during the dream, so i didn't know i was asleep.

sorry for the long post. i like to describe things in detail.

first of all i can move during sp i just feel REALLY heavy.and second of all nightmares or intense dreams induce pretty much all of my lds.but all of my dreams are intense. and like shift said i recomend doing a wbtb before wild. i wbtb all the time if i dont wild i hope for dild. and i do constant reality checks but they have to be sincere. by sincere i mean you actually have to think that you might be in a dream. when you do RCs think about what dreams feel like when you do it. think about the emotions and stimulus of the most recent dream you remember that help me in my rcs. anyway goodluk :)

well, i have school half the time (unless they let me go to sleep in 1st hour, almost a WBTB), and the other half, i sleep to long. i really need an alarm clock.

i just started my dream journal. and pretty much, if i got school that day, i can't do the recall procedure, and i can't record my dreams because i am busy. so if i got school that day, then the dreams i had are F'ed.

EDIT: PS: is it possible to do intentionally fail a WILD at the beginning of the night, or see how far you go before you do either of alot of things:
1 - you just slip into unconsciousness and enter a non-lucid dream (we need an abbreviation for non lucid dreams)
2 - you slip into a short lucid dream (do to the short REM cycles at the beginning of the REM process, although you could do an extended DEILD)
3 - you wake up in reality (sucks)
4 - you wake up in the dream world (FA, don't forget to RC, short)

i would call these "sub-orbital" WILDs, because you get to the end, but fall back and fail.

first, the things above are just theories, don't know if they actually work, even though i would be gratefull if someone, or myself would test them out.

second, the reason of doing this is to first get used to the symptoms of the process, and second, refine your relaxation and transition skills (i got close, but i never got to live the transition myself, i hope i will tonight tho :)

This is what happens to you every night. And please, god, no, we do not need any more abbreviations :(

This would either be waking up from normal sleep, or giving up.

This would be the exact same as number one, unless you did RC and became lucid, in which case it would just be a DILD.

You wouldn't get to the end, really. They don't need a special name. They're basically all just failed WILD attempts- normal sleep, DILD, FA, non-lucid dreams, and successful WILD.
