Dream Recall
So I'm currently just working towards getting better at simply remembering and experiencing dreams. But I was wondering something.
Right now, I need to tell myself as I fall asleep that I will wake from and remember my dreams (following the advice on this site). However, the past two nights I didn't do that and just went to sleep. I woke up not remembering anything.
So it got me wondering, will I need to consciously tell myself every night to remember my dreams, or do most people get to the point of natural dream recall with enough practice?

I'm very new to Lucid Dreaming and at the start my recall was quite bad, I have found Reminding myself b4 going to bed every night and it's been successful. Maybe just keep Reminding yourself before you goto bed and see how it goes for a few weeks and then stop Reminding yourself and see if it comes naturally.
Good luck with the Recall.

Autosuggestion is very helpful, but in my opinion can become a handicap if you rely on it too much.
It's not necessary to recall dreams. Some people don't need any aids, but most of us choose to write in a dream journal, which allows us to remember more dreams than usual.

I have the same problem. Except even when i make the effort i still have lots of trouble remembering my dreams, even a little bit. =S guess i just have to keep at it.

It will become natural to just wake up in the middle of the night and recall a dream. The un-natural part is going to be having the will and dedication to actually WRITE your dreams down instead of rolling over and going back to sleep.

Lately I haven't been bothered to write my dreams down. But I make myself do it because I know the reward will be amazing.
