reality check: You are dreaming

I've heard someone talk about seeing words scraped on bathroom walls, and it said "you are dreaming". Maybe it was seeker. HE said he did 15 reality checks but nothing worked and got pissed off

I was wondering, would it work if I put "You are dreaming" on every binder/locker I have? And then whenever I see the words, I'd thnk and do reality checks. I'm having trouble lucid dreaming need every technique I can find.
I was thinking that if I have those "you are dreaming" signs everywhere, jt would appear in my dream?

That actually sounds like a great idea! Ive been keeping a dream journal for a few weeks without really finding any dreamsigns so maybe this way, those messages would work their way into my dreams and become dreamsigns. Thanks for the tip.

It's a good way to remind yourself, especially if you look at those journals frequently throughout the day. Be sure that it's not just a quick "Am I Dreaming?" or you might get in the habit of saying "no" all the time. Take the time to examine your surroundings and check to be sure whether or not you're dreaming. Good luck!

Heh i did that yesterday, i put RC time all over my planner and it keeps on reminding me :P I should put it everywhere now :D

Put a big paper on your bedroom door that says : "Are You Dreaming?
Do a Reality Check"

I had a question thats been bugging me whenever I saw things on Reality Checks.
They all say "If the words/text/whatever change, you are dreaming" So...when I do them when I am awake, it will carry into my dream and I'll do it? because when I'm dreaming, I almost never have outside thoughts.

I am not sure if this is exactly where you are coming from or not. But if in fact you rarley have "outside" thoughts then try to incorporate something you dream of often in your day. When you do this, associate it with dreaming and maybe do a reality check.
In other words try to find your dream signs. This method increases the factor of the event being associated in your dream.

Ok so, I kinda get what you're saying, let me try re-phrasing the question.

When I do reality checks on a normal basis, every day, and it turns into a habbit, will it incorperate into my dreams as where in the dream I will remember to do a reality check.

I'm pretty sure you mean, that if so often in real life you try reality checks and always fail, what's to say that in the dream they will work, and that you might not dream yourself failing them (from constantly failing in real life)?

I think the difference is that when it becomes a routine, you've got to make it otherwise. Make it routinelike, so that you are checking often, but don't merely DO the actions. You have to try to make them otherwise. Try to be able to breath with your nose plugged, try to be able to stick your fingers through the palm of your other hand... try hard! If you merely repeat the same meaningless actions over and over, then yes, it is likely that in the dream you will have the same outcome. But if you bring meaning to them, if you try and attempt to will whatever it is to be otherwise, then in your dream you are more likely to have a successful reality check.

Yes, I understand that, I mean, I'm not going to just look at something for two seconds and say "I'm not dreaming! oh well, maybe tomorrow" I just wanted confirmation on what I was asking, wich is....is that how it works?

Yes, that's the idea behind it. Incorporating it into your daily routine will make it more likely occur in your dreams. Especially if you're thinking about it a lot. Apparently it is much easier to realize you're dreaming when you are reading a lot or thinking a lot about it.

I myself don't practice reality checks. For no real reason aside from lazyness and inconvenience.

I'm a person that always looks at the clock or my watch because of my work, but everytime I look at a clock I do a reality check, and it works more often then not, but I lose control. someone will have better luck.

and is easy to tell if you're dreaming cause I cant read my watch.
