Ive been at it for 2 going on 3 months and havent' had one yet
It's hard to say how many exactly. I've been LDing untill i was about 10 yrs old, but i didnt know what it was called or if it was unusual. If i had to take a guess, i'd have to say anywhere from 20-30
They've all happened randomly, It just used to hit me randomly that i was dreaming, i never really tried to induce 'em untill i found DV.
It doesn't do any justice calculating an average over my entire life :P
But when I'm doing well, I have about a month of 1 LD a night (avg)... but its more like 4 in one night, nothing for 3
Otherwise I end up with 1 per week - and usually not good ones either...
Wow , do you mediatate much??, i high recomend reading http://www.spiritual.com.au/astral.html its focussed on astral projection but so many of the mediatation techniques help with lucid dreaming, i had a lucid dream 4 days after i started. This is my 5th day i tried pretty hard to have one this morning but with no luck.Quote:

Well, I'm a natural LDer, a regular LD slot machine -- though I probably should try one of the numerous, infamous techniques one of these days -- on average, if I'm "hot", I can get two or three per week, and more rarely, four or five. When I'm "not", maybe one every three weeks, or occasionally, one a month, if I'm really out of it.
Me too! I think my main problem was I woke up about half 6 and it took me 20 mins to force myself to wake properly enough to write down the dream and try and induce a lucid one! It was just before 7 when I started to induce, and I think I was then too awake to do so. The fact that I had to get up at half 7 didn't help. I'd have slept through too, but my girlfriend 'kindly' turned on the light and prodded me till I got up!!Quote:

Can someone please convince me that it IS possible, I tried again this morning and failed!
I think my main problem now is the fact that my only proper LD (the 1 minute one, as opposed to the 5 second one!) is such a distant memory now that it's almost hard to believe it actually happend!
...and Placebo, I'm glad someone out there understands my situation!! ( <- I love that banana blokey!)
Been at it for a year and have had three or four short ones. :damnit:

I'd love to - but how ? :D
May this will help you : why would we have an entire forum dedicated to the subject, with many of us that have had many many experiences with it... if it weren't possible.. ?
And lucid dreaming isn't nearly as hard as some other skills ;)

Yep - you're just starting to doubt whether it was for real
Try to ignore the question of whether it's possible, and just concentrate on doing it. (Yeh, I know, easier said than done..)

I'm sure lots of us have similar problems - Its not just us two :)
Most of my hobbies need a bit of quiet time, and family just don't help
[EDIT]
Have you tried a variety of both wake induced and dream induced methods?
And have you considered self hypnosis methods (for both wake and dream induced...) ?
I have been practicing it for less than a year, maybe half a year, not sure anymore. My average number of LD's is zero... I have never had one.
About a month with 5-6 LD's! :D
Mine are self-suggested so...I'd say...whenever my confidence jumps leaps and bounds. That, and when I buy Crunch bars!
I have about 1-3 a week usually. It's starting to become very natural to me, and sometimes I don't even need to do a reality check I just have the "I'm dreaming" feel.
But if I really wanted to have, I have found some tricks over the year. It's just difficult with my schedule. Like if I were to take a nap in the middle of the day, I could go right into a lucid dream. Or if I stayed up all night and went to bed at 7 am and set my alarm to 8 or so, I almost always have a long LD there.
Does staying up all night then going to bed the next morning help lucid dreaming at all?
That should actually be another topic, if we end up discussing it.Quote:

IMO, it probably helps if you do it on occasion.
The reason is probably that you aren't accustomed to sleeping at that time, and the unusual noises keep you in a light sleep.
Basically you end up napping in place of a decent nights sleep.
End result: a possible LD, but a really shitty day ;)
Its been almost two weeks since my first and only LD. My problem is I dont have a digital watch so I cant do the time reality checks during the day! Also I havnt really been doing the WBTB thing yet. Does it actualy help ALOT?? I usually just do MILD before I go to sleep and again if I wake up in the night....
I've been practising for about 3-4 weeks and had 5 LD's
i had my last 2 this morning, right after eachother :)
i have at least one LD each week, and with some luck even 3
but, somehow, when i did WBTB and WILD and all that stuff, i didnt LD, when i stopped, i began to LD
(last night i summoned a dragon!)
I've been having them for as long as I can remember - I vary though, from 4-5 a week, to a week or two without any. Generally without Reality Checks - the dream will start and I'll think "Oh - I'm dreaming.".
I've found that most of my dreams come when I wake up in the morning, decide my first lecture isn't that important and reset the alarm clock - I generally put my head down, slip straight into the dream and know that I'm dreaming.
