How long do they usually last?
Varies, depending on experience (some beginners wake themselves up), stabilization, luck, whatever. They can be seconds long or feel like they last hours. Mine have all seemed to last about 5 minutes. I also suck at WILDing.
Where do you usually find yourself in when you know you succeeded doing a WILD?
Depends on the technique that the person uses. In VILDs, you end up in whatever location you were visualizing. In HIT, you end up in whatever your hypnagogic imagery was. In techniques where you focus on your body and SP, most people end up in their own bedrooms. In DEILDs, I usually focus on my last dream and end up back in it, whatever it was (VILD into my last dream). So really, it mainly depends on the technique you use, and even then it changes.
Why is it that everything we do feel so real when we LD? Like for example i was holding hands with someone in my dream and when i woke up from the wild, i could still feel a lingering feeling on my hands?
I couldn't hazard an accurate guess beyond the basic things I've learned about sensation and perception. Since you don't have sensors in the body that are adapted to actual stimuli, you'd think there wouldn't be a reason to keep feeling things for that reason, but there may be lasting adaptation going on in the brain itself. Like I said I don't know anything but some basic stuff about perception, so really I can't do more than talk off the cuff and guess. I highly doubt anyone knows the true answer to this yet.
