Bizarre Dreams/Images

Hi all,

First post here.. I've been having some really weird dreams the last few months and haven't been able to find answers elsewhere.

I rarely dream of myself in situations, is this odd? Most of my dreams are like the ones below.

I have three reacurring dreams, all are normally quite short kinda flash like..

the first one started at the beginning of the year, it is an image of a three winged bird spiraling to fly. really difficult to explain - it works perfectly in my dreams but when i think about it out in the mornings it can't find a way it would work. the bird always seems lonely and tired to me, but at the same time as if it will only stop when it dies. It never has any companions, the sky it is flying in is always empty and when i see anything below the sky it appears to be calm ocean.

shortly after this dream started i began having little flashes of an echidna in a white environment (no walls/sky etc just white).. its on the verge of death trying to drag itself away from something that i never see. Someone or something has quite neatly cut off all its spines and stuck them back into the echidnas body but it doesn't bleed. for some reason this dream doesn't evoke any pity in me like it should..

the last dream is really bizarre, its of a baby boy with grown up bits if you get my drift. hes trying to walk but keeps tripping over himself... hes always laughing and smiling though. this dream does disturb me, i wake up straight after it and can't get back to sleep.

i don't know if this is relevant at all but on the nights i don't dream i have panic attacks in my sleep. i never remember them but my bf tells me in the morning that i kept him awake all night.

any ideas?

No ideas what they mean, but that you are having these as recurring dreams is a good thing since you're on a lucid dreaming website. I suggest that you read about DILDs and Reality Checking. Learning to become lucid, or aware of the fact that you're dreaming during your dream, will allow you to calmly and rationally observe these dreams and question them and interact with them while you're dreaming them. You'll be able to bring these conscious questions into the dream and hopefully ask the bird/echidna/baby why you keep dreaming about them (it may sound crazy but in dreams anything can talk, so you just may get an answer ;)). Hopefully by becoming lucid you'll be able to find some sort of closure to whatever it is that is causing you to have these dreams again and again, especially the baby one if it is distressing you very much. Having certain things repeat in your dreams should make it significantly easier to lucid dream.

As far as panic attacks when you don't remember what you dream, is it possible that you are having night terrors?
