Hey guys.. was wondering if I can play my ds for the few minutes I'm awake..
its one of the things I can do discreetly as surfing the net/watching tv will just bring up too many questions for my parents.
Maybe play my ds for .. 15 minutes?

The light from the DS will make your brain release some chemical...Serotonin? I think.
This is the chemical which tells your brain that it is daytime.
This is good as it will make you relatively more aware, but it will most likely kill any recall of whatever dreams you had before the WBTB, and it may make it harder to fall back to sleep, but it should not be a big problem.
The increased awareness from the light, along with the WBTB will make you sleep lighter - hopefully allowing you to become lucid easier.

Yes Dizko, it's seratonin, but that much light shouldn't increase your seratonin levels enough to wake you up, it should actually help your wbtb since the seratonin makes you sleep lighter like Dizko said.
well the light will help alot to become aware,
it does not increase your seratonin, but it does mess with it.
seratonin controls mood, appetite, and sleep
The only problem I've had playing my gameboy during a WBTB is getting too into the game I'm playing. When I go back to sleep, the game keeps playing in my mind. It makes it hard to clear my mind and focus. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about if you've ever played video games right before bed.
I still do it all the time. I just have to make sure I don't get too "into" the game.
