How to check that your still lucid?

Only recently i've gotten back into lucid dreaming, when I had one on Saturday morning, then one this morning. I looked in a box, and thought this is a dream, then I looked at my hands. On my right, the thumb, index, forefinger and pinky were missing the sections between the tip of the finger (nail), and the knuckles. I showed this to my friend, and he leapt back in shock - I thought this was quite funny. Then I looked back at my hand, and one of them had grown back. Anyway, later in the dream, I was still keeping the dream stable (touching stuff), and then I wasn't sure I was still lucid. I was trying to make the time in the dream much longer than time when awake. I forgot about saying stuff/shouting to make stuff happen, and all I did was think stuff, trying to make it happen. Whats the best way to check that your still lucid?

Another thing, I'm not sure if the place changed so fast that I did not notice, but I tried spinning, and nothing happened. Or is it better to think/say where you want to go?

Being lucid basically means being aware that you are dreaming.
So if you meant "how to check if you are dreaming", then check out the reality check tutorial. :?

Also, when your dreaming, should you be able to remember things you have done when last awake, or even before that? You know how you cannot always recall everything you have done when you were dreaming, is it the same when you are sleep and dreaming (lucid) things you have done when awake, you cannot recall as well when dreaming (lucid)?

Check out the reality check tutorial, any of those should work. Usually it's best to just keep telling yourself that you're dreaming so that you never have to check again.

the best one for me is to pinch your nose and check if you can breathe.

when i achieve lucidity my thoughts control the situations, i dont need to shout. Just mean what you think, and it will work wonders. =)

When I put effort in it, during a LD, I have pretty much access to the same memories as during waking life, but as said, it might take some more effort.

I have to actively keep myself from getting too involved in any storylines. I lose track of my lucidity quickly if I get caught up in the dream.

Just do a RC every couple of minutes and keep the thought of being in a dream in your head. Also don't let any bad thoughts or emotions take hold of you, such as fear, they can be a real lucidity killer.

As for memories, I don't seem to be able to remember much. Although I've yet to have a really stable and long enough ld to try. But I'm sure it's possible, how else would you remember what you had planned if you couldn't?
