New dreamer :)
Hi guys :) My name is Erin, and I've been looking into Lucid Dreaming for only 2 days.
I found out about it from a conversation I had with my dad. I forgot how it was started, but he came to the subject of lucid dreaming and told me about it. I wanted to look it up, and approx. 2 years later, I finally did.
So I am at the very basic stages of lucid dreaming...I started a dream log, and I'm working on my dream recollection ability.
So last night I tried it, and was able to wake up so I could record my dreams.
But for some reason my mind told me it was unimportant, and I fell asleep before I could record anything.
Does anyone have any tips on staying awake and remembering your dreams long enough to record them? As soon as I woke up, the dream began to fade very quickly. I can no longer remember what it was even about.
Thanks for reading! I hope to see some of you on the forums, and I'm looking forward to my first *remembered* lucid dream! :)

Welcome to DV!!
A good way to recall your dreams upon awakening from them in the middle of the night is to just lay still in your bed and not move around that much, and let your thoughts collect and gather on what you just awoke from.. I don't know why, but for some reason, it has been known if you move around upon awakening from a dream, it becomes easier to forget...
But again, Welcome to DV, hope you have a Lucid soon!

Hello Erin. I'm fairly new too. I've been trying to LD for about a month and a half. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Welctome to Dreamviews and have fun.

thanks for the welcome guys! although i'm kinda scared of sleep paralysis, I still can't wait to start LD!

I'm only scared of sleep paralysis when my lights are off. x.x I never fully entered sleep paralysis but still have LDs from partial sleep paralysis. I was really close to full sleep paralysis but I got scared when I heard a voice say "Hey."

Ya the hallucinations are exactly what I'm afraid of...I know I can't handle something like that, and I don't wanna scare myself so bad that I don't wanna try Lucid Dreaming anymore.
I haven't even had my first lucid dream yet, so I think for now I'm probably good...I'm still working on dream recollection
