AM I A LUCID DREAMER?(Cusp?)

I am new to this website and all of its terms which describe lucid dreaming. But, i have more dreams than anyone i have ever met, some of which are very realistic and puzzling. I understand that most people have a point in their dream where they realize they are dreaming, or give themselves a reality check, but i haven't done that since i was a kid. Now, my dreams feel exactly like real life, and i am not startled by the crazy things that happen. This started happening more when i tried Salvia Divinorum, which i still use occasionally when the time feels right. My dreams sometimes forecast my future in a way that i can't understand until things have already happened.

My question is, are my dreams lucid?

I have control in them, but i don't realize that i can do anything that i wouldn't be able to do normally.(Such as levitation or flying)

Could someone experienced help me figure out how to fly or see what i want to see?

By definition, you are having a lucid dream if you are aware that you are dreaming.
I suppose your dreams can be foretelling or realistic as they like but you must be aware your dreaming in order for it to count as a lucid dream.

Sounds like you just have superhero powers in your dreams, next time you're flying, ask yourself why you're able to fly, your conclusion will lead you to be lucid.

Yeah, control and lucidity are two separate things. I have lots of dreams where I have kick ass control, but I'm still not lucid.

The more you do lucid dreaming, the more that line between lucid and non lucid begins to blur. You start doing things you learned from lucids in your regular dreams, but that doesn't make you lucid.

Edit: Sorry, I feel I'm not much help answering your question. To get lucid, you need to stop reacting to things on autopilot. I started talking about that a bit here (http://dreamviews.com/community/show...4&postcount=27), but unfortunately there is no easy answer, otherwise lucid dreaming would be a common ocurence.

Thanks guys. By your definitions, i guess most of my dreams are not lucid. Most of the time if i give myself a reality check i just wake up, but sometimes i will intentionally not rc to keep that from happening.

One thing, that I've never expanded on, is when I was little, I would be scared of nightmares. My mom told me just to yell "mama" in my dream, and that was all I needed.

Next time I was scared, I yelled "mama", and the bad guy collapsed, and when he saw he was completely overpowered, we became friends. He was really tall, so I got on his shoulders like my dad carried me and we went around L.A. (I lived there then).

So if anyone else (or me) looked further into that, there might be an effective way of connecting words to actions in dreams, so you could say "fly" and it would be a foolproof way to get you off the ground.

I'm not sure though.
