need some help
hi i'm new here
i've never attempted to lucid dream before, it just sorta happened
i googled 'dream control' and this is where it got me
i'm pretty excited because i never knew this was actually a real thing that people do
i can't seem to get reality checks into my daily life. i'm really forgetful. any tips?
by the way, i had 1 dream since learning how to which was about to become lucid. i knew i was dreaming, and then i sorta felt myself switch between lying in bed (which i thought was real) and going back into the dream. that is, i dreamt that if i tried to control my dream, i'd wake up (even though it was a false awakening) so i just decided to go back to 'dreaming'. weird huh

If your on the computer a lot you could set your background/screensaver to remind you to reality check or you could write an A on the palm of your hand which you might look at during the day, even if you have friends who you can tell to sometimes act really strangely and hint that you should do a reality check, if you go on forums often you could put your signature kind of like somebody else's is (sorry, i dont know his/her name) where the text changes and it prompts you to do a reality check and you will also help other people by doing this.
Just ideas like that, and sorry for the wall of text, I just woke up and I'm ill at the moment so I can't be bothered to put much thought into such things.

That's okay Dying Dignity, we understand and hope you get better!
Okay lucidluce, I assume that you've been to the tutorial section of the site. Make sure to do a lot of RC's throughout the day, especially when something out of the ordinary happens. Other than that...pretty good advice already. Good luck!

I've been RCing very often throughout the day, but very simple ones like checking my hands and questioning my surroundings. I'm sort of lucky enough to have a large scar on my hand, which I have also been using as an RC. I'm still new to it and I sometimes keep forgetting to RC though.

Even simple RC's should work. Just keep doing it regularly!

i couldn't do the 'trick your body' thing last night because i am just not that controlled
but anyway yeah it's really hard to realise you're dreaming because some dreams are so realistic and you have a false awakening
i'm trying to get rc-ing into my day by just thinking about lucid dreaming constantly and getting really into it
thanks guys

Take a magic marker (a washable one :P) and write RC on your wrist is big letters. Do a reality check every time that you see it. It'll amount to hundreds of RCs and will quickly carry over to your dreams :D
Tricking your body is tough to do, once you learn to do it it's supposed to be very reliable, but it's hard to learn. Not to say that you shouldn't try it :D
