      my real introduction

Hello, everyone! I joined this site quite a while ago, may have even written an introduction (i don't even remember at this point), but have since defected and not visited the site for at least a year or two.

I've recently gotten into a lot of studies about consciousness and the sort and would really like to REALLY start lucid dreaming. I'm making this post, therefore as my first actual introduction =)

A little background info (if anyone would care to know)

      Sex:male

      Age: 19

      Occupation: College student/freelance graphic designer

Experience with dreaming, lucid or otherwise: Not much, have kept a dream journal on and off for a few months or so, before pretty much forgetting about it

Well, thanks for reading my post, and I really look forward to starting this venture into lesser-known planes of existence, and would really appreciate all your help and input in the future!

Welcome to Dreamviews! Or welcome back, I should say.

We have a section for dream journals here, if you'd like to start one online. Normally I'm a little bad about keeping mine updated, but because it's in a place where people can post about my dreams, it really motivates me to keep going with it. Since I joined DV I've kept the most detailed dream journal ever in my life, and it's really cool to be able and go back to old entries.

Generally speaking dream journals are the first step to improving dream recall, which in turn helps you have more lucid dreams. Keeping a journal is basically telling your subconscious "Hey, I'm paying attention to you! I think you're important, so tell me what you want me to be aware of!" So after a while, your dreams will become more vivid, more interesting and more fun.
