help with WILD
So last night I thought, why not give WILD a shot. So I went to bed, picked the most comfortable position to sleep, and cleared my mind completely. I avoided having any kind of thoughts or anything, I didn't move, I just stayed on that position with a clear mind. However, I didn't start seeing images or even got to sleep paralysis, well maybe I did, but not before falling asleep.
So my question is, how do you do WILD without falling asleep? or have I got a wrong concept of the WILD technique?

You do, actually, need to fall asleep. You just need to hold onto a bit of your awareness as you do so. It is also nearly impossible to WILD when you first go to sleep at night. You need to do it after a few hours of sleep. Check out this guide on Wake Back To Bed:

And read through some of the user guides to get a feel for how different people manage to fall asleep without losing awareness:

You need to come up with a little mental trick to help you remain awake while your body falls asleep. Some common ones are counting, visualizing a dream, or imagining motion.

Andres, I find it much easier to let my mind wonder. That way my thoughts slowly turn into objects/images/scenes and it makes it much easier to transition more quickly. The whole point with WILD, "IS" to fall asleep. Just fall asleep consciously/and aware. Take a look at the links Robot Butler provided, if you have any further questions, we will glad to help! Good Luck!

Its different for everyone. Keep working on it, and see what works for you.

All I can say from my experience, after trying hard let everything go, do 4-8 reality checks per day and stop thinking about lucid dreaming, go to bed, and set clock to wake you up during random time in night, drink some water and think "I AM NOT SLEEPING NOW, IF I WOULD BE DREAMING I WOULD IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZE IT"... and go sleep not trying anything.
It was very hard for me to get first official LD. Just keep a dream journal and you will succeed.
