Dream a little dream of me..

      Hi everyone,

My name is Maria. I live in the beautiful north, in Norway to be exact. I found this site when i was "stumbling" last night and thought this whole "lucid dreaming" would be interesting to try out. I have always been interested in dreams and what they mean. I have kept a dream journal from time to time since I was a little girl, just for the fun of it. I have also tried to take control of situations in my dreams before (especially in uncomfortable ones) with various results. Many times when I am dreaming I find myself thinking "this is a really weird dream" or "I have to remember to write this down when I wake up." I guess that experience is called DILD(?) I can usually recall 2 or 3 dreams from each night, but most times I just keep dreaming on the same thing if I wake up during the night.

Before I went to sleep last night I put my "little book of wisdom", where I write down stuff I need to remember by the bed I said to myself that I have to remember to look around in my dream to see if there are anything unusual happening. Once I fell asleep I had a dream where I could "warp" from one room to another by standing in the corners of the room. For a moment I stopped and though "this must be one of those unusual moments I am supposed to write about." I picked up my "book of wisdom" (still dreaming) from my pocket and tried to write down what was happening, but everything I wrote was just jibberish..

I usually have really strange dreams, the kinds of dreams that people just shake their heads at when I tell people about them. I'm really looking forward to reading about other peoples dream experiences and tell them about mine

You sound like you're off to a great start!

What you've experienced were definitely DILDs. Welcome to DreamViews!

Nice one, it sounds to me you are a natural. Good thing you came here, you can learn to use that to take full control over your dreams.

No, they are not DILDs. They are just naturally occurring Lucid dreams, it isn't a technique at all. Techniques (pretty much anything that ends with "ILD") are things you use to become lucid. And in this case, no technique was used. So it was not a DILD. DILDs involve reality checking etc.

Yea, just remember, when you realise you are dreaming. You must know that you can do anything you want. Go fly away or something, do the things you have never imagined you would be able to do in real life.

Also, don't be too excited, that will just wake you up.

OK, thanks for the tip. I will try and keep my head cool Usually when I realize that I'm dreaming I just follow what ever happens in the dream without taking control.. Until I read about it on this site I didn't know that you could actually take control and do whatever you want when you dream.. It's pretty amazing!

Haha, yea, a lot of naturals are like that.

And other people too. One time ages and ages before I knew anything about lucid dreaming, I had a really long lucid dream, but I never really took control, cause it just never occurred to me.
