I'm New, Important question.:P

I'm new to these forums, and hopefully will stick around. All of these topics are really interesting, and I have had great dream recall for the past few nights, so I looked up this site. As well have I seen it on tv, in multiple scenarios where People can control what happens in there dreams.. Now.. is it possible to be completly conscious in your dreams, and do whatever you want? I've browsed through the tutorials, and read alot of the sites content, but can someone give me there experiences in dreams where you could control stuff, and think in them.. Like does it feel like your there the whole time and you can do whatever?

to put it simply, an advanced lucid dreamer can do pretty much whatever they want to in their dreaming. the main factors that inhibit or enhance that are the quality and quantity of lucidity a person has. this will vary from dream to dream, and from individual to individual. for instance, you can have really low levels of lucidity where all you are able to do is pretty much just be aware that you're dreaming. you can have really high levels of lucidity where you can affect the dream environment: conjure things out of thin air, fly, jump like a kangaroo, levitate objects, visit the moon.... etc.
to really affect your dream environment, you have to have a high level of lucidity. the more lucid you are, the more your dream is under your control. and yes - it feels just like you are actually there... it feels in a strange way, even more "real" than waking life. it is a feeling you will get in your whole body. you will be able to "think", but your thinking will be much more immediate... you won't have a lot of memory function... it's all very much like living in one big "now".
you asked for examples....
i have flown over villages, visited different times, spoken to dead loved ones, visited people i havent seen in decades, levitated furniture, seen energy flows, examined some psychological issues....really.... theres a ton of things you can do.

I am guessing I may have high lucidy, because In my past I have been able to tell that I am dreaming in a dream, and i remember dreams alot, besides recently when I have had poor sleep. I remember one dream along time ago, where It felt like i could control things really really easily, I got to talk to my friends, and i could control what i was going to say. So I am going to say I have had about 1 real lucid dream.
This is all before I have actually belived that controlling dreams was possible, so maybe it will come to me easier then some. Thank you for responding:D

Yeah! Well, most people don't find this subject (Lucid Dreaming) hard to relate to because most have experienced it before. But if you've never had it, the more fun it'll be when you eventually have one! When you find out that you are dreaming, you'll be like "Yeeeeessss!!! :banana:"!

And the LD you were talking about was a semi lucid dream. You could controll what you were going to say and do, but didn't directly understand it was a dream, am I right?
