hello all! I'm Nufeather I've been on this site for quite a while, and lost an account then came back to attempt lucid dreaming once more, but never really made it to where I believed I should have been. I lost the opportunity as summer ended and school and XC began. but now I'm back and willing to try once more....I feel as if I lost the patience I once had when I started. any tips on how to increse my patience for hypnotic-like techniques or just patience in general?
I'm not sure man, I'm in a similar situation as I intend to start up lucid dreaming again after my exams are over. I would just say persist and if/when you get some lucid dreams hopefully those would be enough motivation to continue ;_;.
I'm sure some of the more serious lucid dreamers will offer better words of wisdom than me though as I expect that they've probably faced similar situations and overcame them.

For the hypnotic state I use Hemi-Sync Lucid Dreaming series or Binaural Beats mp3 and other methods such as counting backward or forward from 1 to 100. Don't forget those reality check, this was the main key for me to become lucid :)

Not really a hypnotism expert, but what always helps me is to imagine all the cool stuff I can do in a dream. That's usually plenty of incentive.
i know this might sound crazy, and it's not really much in the way of 'tips to remain patient', but maybe it will help encourage you to try to be patient.
whenever you wish you could be something you believe you are not, you put a lot of pressure on yourself. this belief restricts your true potential by creating a boundary between yourself and the infinite. how can you ever hope to be something you know you're not? the only way to begin is to let go of that boundary. know that you are a dreamer. in time, you will dream. time doesnt exist for the dreaming body, so it's not on the same page you are when it concerns the question of "when?"
second - the pressure you put on yourself creates a sense of dis-ease...of unsatisfaction. this translates into heaviness in the dreaming body. what you want to shoot for is lightness in that body. in order to accomplish that, you need to clean out the things that make it heavy. a good place to start would be not being too hard on yourself. not that you should be lazy and undisciplined, but moreso that you don't judge yourself and criticize yourself for not dreaming on a specified timetable. being impatient with yourself is only going to stand in your way and make it more difficult to do dreaming.
your words have definetely helped me, I'm just going to keep my self at a more relaxed state throughout the day and not put pressure on my self. I may actually have to experiment and do the reward method I read about a couple months back, that may help. Thank you!Quote:
