first night attempting to acheive lucidity
last night i had read all about dream lucidity and dream control. i found that i have obtained both in the past and not really realized i was doing something special. after reading this i realized that it was a great ability. last night, i started a dream journal and attemted to try lucidity on purpose this time. however i was unable to acheive it. for some reason i was unable to notice any of the many cues that i discovered after writing them down. my first dream was very vague. i just remember watching a tv program and the person on tv said that something was being cancelled but i could not tell what she was saying. theres a cue right there that i was dreaming, but i did not notice it while dreaming. The next dream was at a school somewhere(cue) i dont know what school but i was back at school. i was driving my old camaro (important sidenote: i wrecked that camaro about a year and a half ago. yet again another cue that i was dreaming.) yet i still did not think anything weird about the situation. there was a a parade of some sort going through the school. i joined in the parade and started doing donuts in the street. the crowd started going wild. quickly thereafter my mom appeared and asked where my porn was... i dont know why... but i quickly became mortified that she asked me infront of the entire crowd after i had been praised for doing some epic donuts. (that camaro was legendary for doing donuts in parking lots.) needless to say i was very angry with my mom and i started throwin a fit. yelling and screaming. at that point i was woken up by my mom right then. i was still angry at my mom even when i woke up. after realizing i was dreaming i was more mad at myself that i had let the dream dictate my own feelings and actions instead of making the dream go at my pace.
can anyone give me some tips on how to better notice all these cues that seem so easy to notice after i have awaken?
