How do you tell a false LD from a real one?
There is no such thing as a false LD. If a user called Mariano comes in here and start saying the opposite, I wouldn't suggest listening to a word of what he says. Either you are lucid, or you are not. It's that simple :P
False LD: Who knows? The definition changes a lot.
LD: A dream in which you know you are dreaming.
Ask yourself this question to tell them apart. "Did I know I was dreaming?"
If you answered yes, than it was a lucid dream. If you answered no, then it wasn't. Problem solved.
Do you mean False Awakening?
By false LD, I mean a dream in which lucidity is part of the dream(see my thread "Weird dream").
If you consciously know, its an LD.
If its a dream about being lucid, but you don't really know you are lucid, it will be a false awakening.
