Question.About.Going.from.sleep.paralysis.to.a.LD

First.I.would.like.to. apologize.as.my.spacebar.is.broken.

Now how long does it usually take to make the transition? the other night i was in SP or close to it, but i wasn't having any hallucinations at all, visual or auditory.

I tried the WBTB technique but i must have gotten too awake before trying to WILD, because i couldnt sleep. So i was wondering how long i should usually sleep before trying a WBTB? Also when do i know that i've become lucid without moving (so i dont break the SP) Thanks in advance!! cheers!

SP to the dream can take anywhere from seconds to minutes. I have had SP last 10 seconds and other times 5 ish minutes. For me 6 1/2 hours is really good for doing a WBTB, FILD, kind of thing. anywhere between 4 and 6 1/2 hours hours is alright for me personally. everybody is different. you just have to kind of plot when you wake up right from a dream what time it is. sometimes you just open your dream eyes and the dream just starts.some people suggest rolling out of your dream. recently i was having bad SP and i just tried to make it through it and visualizing myself running helped me get into the dream. i actually run into dreams a lot. that's just my two cents :P

well If you are worried about breaking SP, try moving your finger or clenching your jaw. If you can, it shouldn't set you back far, and If you can't then try to roll out of bed or sit up to enter the dream.
