My First Semi-Lucid Dream

I fell asleep reading The Book Thief (I recommend the book) and entered dream state. In the dream I realized something funny and thought that I must be dreaming. Knowing that I attempted to attain control. I was able to move my hands and arms around but as I attained more control I began to wake up because there was a strange feeling in my arms (in real life). I believe this was because of the paralysis we usually get on our limbs during sleep, and as I was dreaming my body became confused because I was not really able to move my arms though I was consciously sending thoughts out to do so.

Needless to say I fell back asleep and continued trying to regain control but I couldn't. Finally my sister roused me (grr).

Any tips?
