Staying lucid during WILD

Hello everyone
I've been reading this site alot lately but i just registered, and i have a question about the WILD technique.

The other night I was laying in bed listening to the Gorillaz tryin to fall asleep and I wasnt trying to do a wild, but somehow i managed to do one. I had weird hypnotic images and they turned into a vivid dream of me reaching into my mind trying to grab a dream that i was about to have. When I found the dream I wanted I started to pull it out of my head, but another had reached in and grabed it and as the two hands were fighting over this dream in my head I said "Wait....Im Dreaming" and everything went quiet and a strange feeling came over me and I was standing in a field but then I started to wake up and I paniked and I tried to spin and tried to focus on the objects in front of me but reality rushed back and I woke up. So i guess my question is are there any other ways to stay lucid during a wild? or does anyone have any tips for me to do a WILD better?

I am not sure I understand this part. Was the part quoted as you had fallen into a dream or part of your HI?
I assume since you questioned that you were dreaming, you were infact, dreaming.

Anyway it seems like a typical WILD experiance but ironacally more experiance is most likley what you need.
I had several dreams I bacame lucid and opon that awareness, I awoke.
Once you become more adapted to the whole process chances are your brain will allow you to go further. Then you have to work on not getting too excited which is the next faze of problems that generally occur.

Howetzer is right. Practice is what you need. One thing I thought a little odd, I've never tried to WILD with music going, it's a little distracting.

I have had sucess with using dream signs to become lucid, only a few times, but I did manage to stop a reacuring nightmare :D so that was good. I normally only notice I'm dreaming when something really outrageous happens. I think I'm doing well in attaining lucidity tho, I've had about 4 lucid dreams last month and the month before that I was lucky if I could recall a dream a week. Another question, the last 2 nights I took nytol, some herbal sleep aid its not really a sleeping pill, because of it I slept better and had longer dreams but will it help with lucidity?

:? Perhaps. What I would suggest the next time you find yourself in a lucid dream and about to wake up, don't just spin. Remain calm and spin, or don't spin and.. take a deep breath or something. Basically, just don't panic. If you get excited, your heart will beat faster, and your body will become more active, and you will come out of the dream.

It sounds to me like you expected everything to change dramatically when you became lucid - which is why it did.
I used to do this, and it was responsible for ruining the majority of my lucid dreams ;)

Try not to expect anything - just expect everything to stay the same, only with awareness
And of course, practice makes perfect..

So, IMO, it had nothing to do with WILD itself...
