Soon to be new members, how about some username ideas?

I thought that this would be the perfect forum for this, right?

So, just come up with some really cool usernames for soon-to-be noobs that are lookin at this. Try to make them lucid related, please. I'm not sayin that their usernames have to be on topic, but there are so many possibilities....just please go with it, ok?

I started this thread, because I was dyin for a noob to have the username: borntobeWILD (I actually sorta mentioned this in another thread before...)

I suppose off topic names are ok too, but they are probably less likely to be used

I don't like names with Lucid in it. Unoriginal and they tend not to stay very long (LDS being an exception) For instance, I use Conkt on everything, and respond to it in real life as I would my real name. Going by LucidManAwesome is just kinda lame.

I see your point, yeah THAT is a lame example, but there are some good ideas. I guess you're right, names that are on topic tend to be members that don't stick around. I don't think that I know anyone that has an on topic username that is an oldish member.

Personally I think names are irrelevant, names are just handles that people go by, OK names do have meanings.

Not saying that what you suggested ludicdreamsavy in not a good idea because it is and I think it helps nooby people get a handle in the community of Lucid dreamers.

Is not because of their names but mabe they they don't stick around because they might have lost interested in LDing??

Or this might have been a bit of a fad, or people may have lost interested because nothing had happed for them who knows :?

I think its a good idea to buddy up with people, or build up a support network to help people along their journey in LDing and to keep people interested in the subject :boogie:

After all LDing is a personal experience and its nice to come to one place to share your experience with others so we can help each other along :D

Maybe this is a dumb idea, but, for the lucid words that stand for something, like WILD and DILD, come up with a new thing that they are abreviated for for a username: example:

WilliamIsLucidDreaming, see: WILD there? They are capitalized. IDK, this may be dumb, just tryin to think out of the box here. So, it can be on topic and also off topic, depending on how you look at it:

Delilah Is Lucky Dancing (yeah, bad example. I'm sure you guys could come up with something better.)

Yes I agree very much so. There is very little negativity that I have seen throughout these forums and mostly what ive seen theres alot of encouragement :D Awesome!!

I think a lot of people leave, stop LDing and such. But you just notice it more when they have names that are on topic, because you remember those names

All the people with redundant user names (ones that involve "lucid" "dreaming", etc) tend to fade away/get lumped together with everyone containing a similar user name. You need something unique. Lucidreamsavy stands out to me because there is nothing quite like it. There was this dude called Alextanium who dropped off of DV a month or two ago, and yet I still remember his name.

Pretty much anything else you won't regret having on a long-term basis. If, for example, you lose interest in lucid dreaming and want to stick around SB or R/S or the like, you may want something that stands out a bit more.

My name is on topic, well, sorta. I got the 'sleepy' from the fact that we LD when we sleep... And I'm still around. There's actually a bunch of people here who have dream related names.

To be fair, I love anything with a Beatles reference.

My name is a play on Sailor Moon (I know, I bet no one could have guessed that!). In the last season, her transformation is called Eternal Sailor Moon, but that's long and a bitch to type, so I chose star instead.

My favourite creative name is my warcraft druid, Lysithia (intentionally spelled wrong so I could use it... you'll see). She's resto, so she turns into a tree. Sailor Jupiter's name is Kino Makoto (ki = tree), and Lysithea is a moon of Jupiter.

I used to go by the name SumBoDi a while back - completely random, but it stuck for a while :D

Anyway I don't think it matters what peoples usernames are - as long as they don't have random numbers in them (excluding the ones with meaning)
