sp question

so last night i tried to get into sp, i went to bed and layed on my back with my hands at my sides after about 20 minutes or so of lying completely still i began to feel the blanket feeling and felt like i was entering sp, but an intresting thing happend as time went on i started to feel dissociated like a perspective shift,, along with some jolts and such a bit longer into this i felt a spinning/hallucination of motion,, like a dxm trip, i was suprised this was happening whilst being completely sober!? after a brief peroid of the spinning i tried to exit,, so i just sat up,, epic fail,, i then went to use the bathroom and tried a couple more times to get into sp again,, unfortunately i couldnt manage to do it again, so i guess i am just wondering if i am making any progess what should i be doing? also i couldnt fall asleep,, i dont know were this is going i just wanted to share what happend, and i am wondering what can help?

Sounds like you were just about there! But 20mins sounds kind of soon if you went to sleep the 1st time of the night.

Did you do a wake-back-to-bed?

Something similar happened to me, but i saw something that looked like a black portal. I could not go to sleep for a long time after that either. You are making progress though.

Hi I have very similar experiences of what you have described when i enter SP and feel my body gets heavy after the hallucination stage and the jolts as you describe is when my body feels like its beginning to detach and feels floaty.

you are making Great progress try staying longer in the hallucination stage and try to keep you mind between sleep/awake
after this your not far from entering into a dream state.

I can only tell you what and how i experience this stage, we are all different but what you describe is very similar to what i have experenced....have a good read in the tutorials and keep a dream journal as this will help you in the future

there is a fine balance between awake and asleep while in SP and i find that it comes in my experience with practice and mental discipline

Also try not to spin that may help you .....you may start having dream impressions where you start to have mini dreams for a few sconds in and out this dream state

well done and keep going you will get there!! all you can do is read about it and try different things :D

I can never get sp twice in one night because i use up all of my concentration on the first. So you felt like you were spinning in bed that sounds kinda like a hallucination so you might have been in SP




Sorry to kind of talk about myself but i don't know where to post a question. The last time i tried to enter SP I was in my bed and suddenly i felt like i was zooming out from my body like i was in third person and felt like i was spinning around? Is this a result of SP or am i just concentrating so hard I'm making myself dizzy? :P

Hi JJa You know when you get into SP try to relax at that point .... and let it happen with the onset of SP thats the point of experiencing as you say "the zooming out of your body!"

SP is the point of where your mind has tricked your body that it is asleep and you feel like a lead blanket has been put over you, beyond that point is where you are at the edge of entering in a dream state this differs for everyone.

you can experience HI or HJ noises and it can seem really weired I get what seem like jolts of electric thats an indication that my body's in SP.

Fact is we are all different and experience different things best thing to do, and what i have done is to read, study all about it, this will then help you to know whats going on during the different stages

you will certainly know it when entering a dream state and then you will know what to expect as you learn.

too the person that said 20 minutes was too early,, at the 20 minute mark was the very start it took almost 2 hours of precision to get were i was just to clarify also i dont mean to brag but i believe that i can get into sp a bit easier because i have been in dissociated/altered states before but with chemicals so i am glad to realize that i can LD sober,:D oh btw thanks for all the advise/help guys you all are awesome!

Sounds you are right on track. One important note is that you should expect False awakenings when trying to go into SP and into Wild. You should ALWAYS do a reality check whenever you wake up during the night. Make it a habit - you will surely catch some dreams this way - while learning to go proper into a WILD.

I failed a WILD by having a false awakening in a restraunt once... :roll:

ok so last night i tried to enter sp again and this time i tried some breathing techniques and tried to relax myself as much as possible and after 1 hour i entered the first stage of sp and experienced the spinning but as i relaxed and went closer to falling asleep i noticed some nypnagogic stuff, after that i entered DEEP sp i have never experienced this before it didnt feel like a lead blanket anymore it was soo intense it was if my body was inbetween 5 feet of wax :shock: then i started to float!:shock: and my eyes were darting back and forth after that things were forming in my vision but at this point i was thinking omfg i am doing it i am soo close but i was soo excited i broke from it, but thats just ok

Haha, that is funny, thats exactly what happened to me last night. i got too excited when i was about to enter and it made my mind less concentrated, which in turn gave me a non lucid dream. My thoughts were exactly as yours lol. "omfg i am doing it, im bout to have some FUN"
