Hey everyone I'm new here, and I am a really heavy weed smoker (like 24/7)and am trying to enhance my dream recall but its been very hazy and I've only been remembering around 1 dream per night. Is there a way to enhance dream recall without quitting pot because I use it for medicinal purpose, and quite frankly dont see myself living comfortably without it....
any suggestions would be great, thanks
Well, start keeping a dream journal, if you aren't already, and see what happens.
Basically, just follow all of the (scientifcally sound) advice there is to be found, here, and see what happens.
Don't assume pot will be a problem until it becomes one. There's a good chance, I think, that it might not be much of an issue at all.
try not to smoke more than you really need to in order to make yourself feel better.. and yeah keep a dream journal. Hopefully you'll start to get better recall but smoking definitely hurts your recall, but not the same amount for everybody.

I don't think its much of an issue. I smoke everyday and recall a bunch of dreams. I have been keeping a journal for awhile now, which is the best thing. I know others on this site are avid smokers and are frequent lucid dreamers, but I have also heard of some claiming that the derb is a REM suppressant.
I would recommend WBTB, with the intention of remembering your dreams and/or lucid dreams. I have found that I get the most solid dreams from doing this.
Yea I'm really lazy when it comes to journals, but I guess it's my only option, I have perfect recall when not smoking, but since that's a rare occasion I guess writing my dreams down the next day is my best bet...here's hoping I can remember anything when I wake up lol. Thanks
The extended use of marijuanna, as well as its short-term use, are linked to problems in concentration, attention, and memory. I'd suggest, at the very least, to plan your smoking such that its effects wear off before you nod off for the night.
Also, stop being lazy when it comes to recording your dreams. It's as simple as that, really.

I used to smoke pot on a frequent basis (ever chance I got!). While under the influence, I found that I didn't remember any dreams at all. I'm not saying that this will happen to you, I'm just telling you my personal experience.
I think it really depends on your own personal brain chemistry. I'll bet for some people, marijuana nullifies dreams, while for others it enhances them. Maybe some people aren't even effected by it at all...
Someone already said this, and I agree with the statement: "I don't think you should assume that it will be a problem until it becomes one"
Maybe cut back on the greens and see how that effects your recall?
I have had several golden dreams with this substance. Just don't abuse it. It actually increases the levels of melatonin so it can help.

well i also smoke buds every day numerous times and my recall has always been pretty good. You just gotta start thinking about it alot during the day b.
