I wasn't aware there were "false" lucid dreams...can you describe exactly what happens in them in detail?
Generally, a lucid dream is just where you know it's a dream as you're still dreaming. It doesn't mean you'll be able to think clearly or remember what you wanted to do or be able to use any dream control. Sometimes it can be a little confusing because those things usually overlap with lucidity.
Incidentally, you're not the first person to ask. So here ya go! Have fun. :D
Seems like you're just starting out, give it time. You don't become an expert over night. Reality check and log your dreams, then take a break! Rushing it or trying to force it to happen usually blocks your ability to successfully have one. Lots of practice and keep trying!
False lucids are the first sign that it's working.

well im using the MILD and i dont want to WILD because of two things 1. im a student and if i can't sucessfully do the WILD i will loose sleep 2. i heard people hallucinate and hear sometimes scary things when they WILD
but if i can WILD wothout having to wake up in the middle of the night then greati will try it but for now i will stick with the MILD
ok a false lucid to me is where i dream where i become lucid but my brain is still in control im not actually lucid i had one last night
oh and do you guys think it would be helpful to you if i posted a dream journal so you can tell whats going on???????????
I is entirely possible to exert your will over your dreams and not be aware that you're dreaming. But that's not a false-lucid. Not in my opinion, anyways. I generally have a lot of control over my dreams, even when I don't realise I'm dreaming.
I'm just a control-freak :D
You're completely right on that. A lot of times people confuse being lucid with having control. Being lucid does NOT mean you'll automatically have control. Dream control is a completely different skill than getting lucid, and just like any other skill, needs to be practiced. A lot of people do have control in their first lucids, and that's great, but it's not the case for all of us. Sometimes, we first need to get used to just getting and staying lucid--and then work on stuff like remembering tasks, staying focused, and dream control. ;)
oh guys and in my false lucid dreams i just randomly become lucid
A lucid dream is still a lucid dream even if it's not intentional...if you get lucid randomly, you're still lucid--it doesn't matter how you got lucid.
Otherwise the natural lucid dreamers would have "never" had a lucid dream before! ;)
