Did I have sleep paralysis? (experience this morning)

I've had a very strange experience this morning.
I woke up because of my alarm clock around 9:00
So I decided I wanted to go to sleep again (that was after about 15 minutes of being awake).
Then suddenly I heard a loud bleeping which sounded very similar to our smoke alarm, but was not the same (the sound doesn't even exist in our house, for as far as I know)
Then the sound stopped. I think it lasted for about 5 seconds.
Maybe the sound stopped because I got scared and the SP stopped.
or Maybe the sound was actually there (there was nobody in the house, though, +I checked all the heat generating electronic things in the house afterwards)
After the sound, I stayed in my bed for like 10 minutes, scared as hell, my fantasy drove me crazy (there must be some kind of pyromaniac who has set of a fire, and disabled the alarm after it went of) .

I doubt whether it was SP or not
Can't remember if I was able to move anything, but I do know that I hadn't been in bed too long before the thing happened ( got out of bed when alarm rang before)

And this kind of thing has never happened to me before, and right now there's this interesting thing called "Lucid dreaming" on what I've spent hours reading relevant forums

Well, tell me what you think

If you didn't know that it was a dream, it wasn't a lucid dream. Sounds like you just had really intense hypnogogic imagery

It sounds like you were experiencing auditory hypnogogic hallucinations. Your body was entering SP and you were in a very early stage of the WILD process. If this happens again, try to remain calm and convince yourself that you aren't afraid. If you can ride out these hallucinations, you will be very close to a LD. All you will have left is the final transition into the dream state. Often times, the final transition happens completely on its own with little effort. Good luck in your future efforts!

I'm in heavy doubt wether the sound was real or not, mainly because I was not intending to go into SP, and I have never been, so

That sounds like SP. Usually it is high pitched noises. Durations are different for everybody. Mine is about three seconds of high pitch one second of gibberish.

Yeah, but still, there's always that thing with electronic devices that makes them random.
I wasn't trying to SP and I haven't had SP before in my entire life..

Often times SP will set in without you trying to obtain it, especially upon returning to sleep after waking up. I'm not saying it was definately SP, but you have certainly entered SP before (while sleeping your body enters this state keeping you from acting out your dream actions in real life...kind of like an instinctive defense mechanism). You probably just have never entered SP consciously.

Another possibilty is the noise could have been a hypnopompic hallucination. Which is a hallucination that can occur upon waking from the dream state. Basically it is the opposite of a hypnogogic hallucination, which occurs during transition to the dream state.

Thanks for all your good replies.
Just another thing I experienced last night, was when I was getting to sleep, all of a sudden I felt like I was spinning around very fast (like with some of the i-doser doses)
      what does it mean?
