Best Practice for a Dream Journal

Please can anyone give some hints, tips and best practice on using a Dream Journal? What worked for you?

Is there a good post somewhere on the forum, as i've used the search function but couldn't find anything.

Ideas on structure etc would be great.

      Thanks,

Include very keywords that allow you to remember the dream, maybe even high light them.
It's also better to write it in present tense, as if you're in the dream and describing it to someone in the heat of the moment (ie. "I am walking to the closet, I'm opening it."), because that will help you feel as if you're still in the dream and thus remember more details while writing it down.
