Motivation
Hello! I'm new on the forums but I've been on this site for quite a while (2 years or so, I'd say?). Anyways I've always found dreams really interesting and particularly back in the day when remembering a dream came once in a blue moon, the idea of an adventure in my head was so appealing and I definitely pursued things such as a dream log.
Nowadays, however, I find myself losing motivation. I might wake up and remember a dream (probably once or twice a week), only to consciously dismiss it within a few seconds. I still occasionally write in my dream journal (I have a 67 page single-spaced word document with all my dreams) but have found it more of a chore than it used to be.
I guess I'm wondering how everyone else maintains their motivation? I definitely find the idea of lucid dreams intriguing, and I'm sure the fun would increase exponentially if I became consistent at it. I feel like I've passed the Newbie's high, but am not yet a pro, so now I'm stuck in a slump between the fun of a new skill and that of a mastered skill.
Any advice? How did you guys keep your motivation going? Did you even have this problem?

Oh yeah, I have definately went through lack of motivation spells. During these times, I took a short break from LDing to "recharge my batteries" and then picked it back up again. You could always start attempting some pre-set goals/activities and challenge yourself in order to get yourself going again. Sometimes you just have to power through these spells and force yourself to keep up with the work (DJing, etc.) until your motivation picks back up. You could also try and see if there is something in your waking life that is causing you to lose motivation (stress, etc.) and try to fix it that way. A real good, long vivid LD can always get your motivation back up as well. Good luck to you and I hope you find a way through it!

Thanks for the help! Yeah I think I really will just have to force myself to DJ. As for stress, I'm probably experiencing some (I'm going to UCLA right now), but I wouldn't necessarily say any more than in high school. Probably just too lazy...
