Question about how tired you have to be?

I have noticed that on days when I don't work out at all, I never remember any dreams or have any images at night. But whenever I work out a lot and then go to sleep, I almost always remember dreaming. Can anyone tell me why this is? Is it just a matter of how deep a sleep I am in due to exhaustion?

I experience an effect that's kinda the opposite to this.
If I go to sleep at 11pm, everything is fine and I have a good recall. However if I go to sleep at 3am, I hardly remember anything.

Today and tomorrow I'll try going to bed at 1am, doing workouts today but not tomorrow to see if it makes any difference,

I think that it may just be something simple like, when you go do sleep after working out you feel much better or your muscles can easily be relaxed or your bodies tired from working out and so your body sleeps faster. It could be anyone of these if not all.
      Hope it helped.
