Was a LD with amazing dream control for 20 years (without doing anything for it), now want it back!

As a kid, even in high school, I always had very lucid dreams. I was also in full control, so needless to say I always ended up being the protagonist, and the hero of the dream :roll: A few times I had this nightmare with serpents, but since I was in such control, I would symbolically "change channel" like on the old tv and would instantly start dreaming about something else.

In fact during the day my brain was always on fire too. I could not potentially sit there and not be thinking about something or completely gone in a day dream.

I thought it was normal until I asked some of my friends about their dreams and it seemed to be very different for them.

A few days ago I found out the term lucid dreaming and it made me remember how I used to dream. I dont know when it all stopped, i wasnt paying attention. Maybe a few years ago (I'm 27yo now). I dont find myself as lucid by day either.

I think it could have something to do with dehydration. Because whatever amount of water I drink during the day, electrolytes or not, i wake up totally dyed up. my mouth screems for water, so are my eyes. and my bladder is so full i gotta get to urinate often twice during the night. If I drink less I dont have to get up but i wake up as dryed up. I wonder if my liver is full of toxins.

I also think too much sexual activity could have had an effect. I think my neuro transmetters are changed, and its weird. i dream a lot more about sex, and can get an orgasm without wet dream while sleeping (!) or a wet dream without orgasm but everytime these occur i was dreaming about sexual fantacies.

Also my pregnenolone, zinc, magnesium are very low. Probably other things that I havent tested are as well. And im much less physically active, to finish my phd. my food also aint as good as what my mom gave me. a lot of factors could be involved.

so far i tried taking 2 B-100 and 3 tablespoons of lecithin b4 bed. I didnt see any results yet. some days i also take other supplements, like zinc, magnesium, multi, alcar, nac, ALA, etc (the list is long). I think i might also be getting too much DHA from cod liver oil and not enough AA and DPA.

Any recommendations for a great comeback? Im looking for anyting like diet, lifetyle, workouts, supplements. I dont really want to get into weird techniques as in the past I was getting excellent LD and control without trying anything.

DANG. That sucks that you lost it, and that you had full control. I've only had, like, maybe four. In my life. I give you props. And I reccomend the MILD method.:shadewink:

Well now that I think about it I really was an awesome LDer. As far as I know it was every single night. I knew perfectly well that I was dreaming, I could decide pretty well how the dream would unfold and it was really real. Enough that sometimes while awake I would have a hard time deciding if a past event occured for real or only in a dream. I'm not exagerating.

To be accurate, I could decide my own actions in the dream but not those of other people. I remember being fascinated by the realism of what others were doing and saying, because that would really match their personality. In fact I would often wonder "what" decides what they're gonna say and do because it would occur so fast and upon reflection it would make so much sense based on what I know of the person. I used to think that I could learn things about friends and family members by putting them in a suitable dream!

But now nothing. Most nights I'm not even aware if I dreamed at all. I go to bed, fall asleep, and wake up. thats it. truly sad I'm also prety sure this is impacting my learning ability, because back then I would frequently go over what the prof said during my sleep, and it was so accurate that it was pretty much a replay of the class. Then when asked a question during an exam I could "replay" the relevant part, which was so clear that I could have written his exact words, his facial expression while saying them, noises or other visual stimulations I had at that moments, etc. No wonder I made it to the phd with such small effort and now im wondering how I'm ever gonna pull it off.

is there people in the forum pretty good with supplements? I think I need to increase my levels of acetylcholine, dopamine, and perhaps serotonin. I think I'll try l-tyrosine or n-acetyl-tyrosine for dopamine cauz I dont really want to try l-dopa. For acetyl choline I read somewhere that 10-60g daily of phosphatidylcholine might be needed, that would be like 40-240g of lecithin daily. If thats true maybe instead I'll need DMAE, galantamine, huperzine A or god knows what. Or maybe i should just wait for my current B-complex and lecithin to kick in. or add l-tryptophan/5htp for serotonin.
