4 weeks and still no ... dsafjdl;

Hi everyone, this is my first post on DV. It's been almost a month since I've been trying to have a ld and still I have nothing. I keep a dream journal and record everyday. Some days I get lazy and don't write all the dreams but generally I write at least three dreams. Also, I've had at least three SP as well. I've had SP as a little kid but back then the visions that would come with it scared the lights out of me; I would see those japanese ghosts with white dresses with long black hair (I have a feeling these visions are the constructs of our own fears) Anyways, I also had a SP last year after a very very drugged out night at a rave. I took about 3 ecstasy pills and for about 5 days there-afterwards, I had a series of SP. My mind was awake but my body was so tired from the drugs. I don't mind SP that much anymore because I've heard it can help get into LD or OBE. I still get a little nervous when I feel it happening. Another thing is I wake up at 4:30 am everyday after "willing" for LD to happen. I write my dream, sleep, and wake and record but not LD. I'm beginning to think I should just get in my morning jog or do my meditations and start my day instead of going back to sleep. So, is there anyone that can give me some insight as to how long I can get a LD and if it is futile to LD after no progress after a month? It takes a lot of people a long time to have their first LD. Don't give up.

SP will help, so take advantage of that. For now, focus on a Dream Journal and Reality Checks. Always the first step.

It will come. Do as Exobyte said, keep up the dream journal and reality checks. I know it's frustrating. I'm struggling with WILD's at the moment...

The first LD is always the hardest to get (generally). It only gets easier after you have had the first. During SP, if you can manage to remain conscious through the transition, you will enter directly into a lucid dream. The technique is known as a WILD. I suggest getting familiar with the WILD technique (check out the tutorials section here on dreamviews...the link is in my signature). Be sure to read through WILD. If you are getting SP regularly, you are getting many opportunities to have a LD. The key is to allow yourself to fall asleep, but keep your awareness while you do so. Basically, witness yourself falling asleep (it leads to lucidity every single time if performed correctly). Thank you guys for all the information (and the motivation). Yea, I won't be giving up because I really want to ld urgh.

Welcome to the forums :) Just keep on pushing right through. My first LD was last year around this time and I've started to really try to have LDs about a month ago with only one moment of lucidity so far, but, confidence is what will get you an LD as well as the different techniques. My advice is this:
- Practice RCs during the day questioning yourself if you are dreaming and prove it to yourself(DILD-> Explained better in Naiya's tutorial).
- When you go to bed, repeat the phrase "I will recognize that I'm dreaming in my dreams"(MILD).
- Wake up 4-6hr into your sleep and try to WILD. If successful, you get a WILD.
- Make sure to set clock 1hr after you woke up, so, that if you don't succeed at WILDing, you get another shot.

Basically, it's like trying to DILD, MILD and WILD at the same time each night and increasing your chances of lucidity :D Just make sure to give enough time for each technique :)

It took me a few months to have a 2 seconds lucid dream lol..but after the first one more come to you. it gets easier and easier. Just have patience.
