Gifted Newbie

Hey, I need some support here. I have been journaling my dreams for 10 years. I'm an expert at dream recall. So much so, that I don't even document half of them anymore (where am I going to store 10 years of dream recall books anyway 8) ). When I tell people of my dreams that include them, they listen because they know that I'm no joke with my dreams. Yes, I did dream the lottery (small one). The money came in time for me to change my life. We are given what we need and the amount I won was just enough. Blessed be.

I have several books on LD but had always refused to read them. Why you might ask? Because my dreams are so psychic why would I want to interfer with them. If it aint broke.. don't fix it. :P

HOWEVER... The day before New Years Day, I had my first LD. I remained naturally calm while dreaming and being awake, and was like "Oh wow, let me do this" and then it would happen and so I continued on "Oh geez, let me take this a step further" and before I knew it, I was slipping into an OOBE. I remained very calm but knew I wasn't ready for it (as I had no real knowledge on this subject matter) I softly said "no" three times (I think it was more like "no....no now, no not ready".

As soon as I said it, I came back to myself and woke up still vibrating. It was the scarest and coolest thing I ever experienced. Of course, I was afraid to sleep for 2 days. I'm starting to get over it though (the fear). Last night when I was dreaming, I was controlling pieces just to see if the power was still there, then an image looked at me and said "well, you going to take it futher" and I just felt "naaaa, not yet, this is all I can handle".

I think I'm going about it smart but there's still a lot I need to learn. I have been actually reading books and just devowering knowledge every minute of the day (to a point where I can't get out of my PJ's because I'm so busy reading and researching).

What frightens me is that I know I have it in me to easily go into LD and OOBE. It's a gift I know I have but am apprehensive about using it. Maybe because it's knew to me? :|

Can anyone else relate to my experience (in that you have been recalling for so long and have seen the benefits of your dreams but never quite like this)? Any insights? What to look out for (other than the obvious; fear nothing, nothing can harm you, stay calm to be in it longer, don't get power greedy, don't mix the two worlds (sleep world and awake world), and don't tell anyone who you don't trust completely because they will think you are nuts and have you committed). :|

Well, if you have such gift you should use it. Just remember that whatever happens to you cant really hurt you. And that it will always stop when you will wake up.

Can't really hurt me? hmm. you saying there's a chance it will hurt?

But seriously, I know that. The best thing to help something evil grow is to fear it. I know that. So, lack of fear is my best weapon but you can't just say "don't worry" when there's so much to consider.

Also, not everyone who has a "gift" uses it.

My fear is that I may like it so much that I won't want to go back to the real world. Will power overpower me? Will I loose faith in God? If I have this gift I would want to use it to do what God wants me to do with it. I don't read too many Godly spirtitual "do gooders" on this site. It all seems very selfish to me. Am I wrong again? HELP!

P.S. Can't recall where I saw the post, but I did read one person talking about eating babies and putting them in a blender. Now, to even joke about that IS SCARY!! I wasn't a tad bit amused by such sickness, joke or not.

I have said it before and I will say it again...
You CAN get hurt on the other side... it depends on how real it is for you, for me its very real. And no you cannot always just wake yourself, sometimes you have to deal with the situation at hand and cannot run from it by waking.

Be CAREFUL!

You can say its just in your head if you like, many do, but remember, your perception of this reality is also... Just in your head.

Emotional pain and stress can and does carry over from the dream world its just as real as it is here.

You are doing the right thing though by taking it slow just keep working at it, and you will Grow. =)

Oh my goodness, just as I was thinking of going to bed brave tonight, I'm starting to change my mind again. What is it that can really hurt you? I thought most people said you can't get hurt in this world and now you are saying you can????

I'll just stick to the lucid dreaming until I've gotten enough experience to go into OOBE (this is what I would really like to learn more of).

Dont wory though, only a few of us seem to feel physical pain in the dream world, and that for the most part does not carry over back to this reality, I did have one experience where I fell off a cliff, hit the ground then woke up, my body had a fiery ache throughout it and could not move for a few moments, this could have been some kind of sleep paralysis but I had never had a painful sleep paralysis like that.

Physical pain is not the one you have to worry about, that heals pretty fast, emotional pain, that can last. It comes from events that effect your life just like here, I had a dream not to long ago where I lost somone VERY close to me, somone I loved very much, when somone you love dies in this reality it hurts, and if you experience life in the dream world it will hurt there too.

And we are not the only ones wandering about on the other side, if you beleive in OOBE then you must beleive in the separation of body and spirit, given that, you can deduce that there are going to be less desirable spirits just as there are people. They can hurt you just like they would do in this reality, and because of the nature of the dream world they can do alot more damage to you.

I am not trying to scare you, this is just how I experience things, most everyone does not though, they are invincible dont feel pain and can wake themselves if they get into trouble.

It has its wonderful side though too, you can experience so much, I recognise that the loss I felt was enourmous... but so too was the love I had for her, the awe you experience as you stumble apon some new place or idea, and pleasure of physical experience.

I think because I have experienced such hardship I also experience amazing wonders I take the good as well as the bad, you cannot truely experience life if you lack one or the other.

Seri, Thats (WTMI) Way too much information for her at the begining stages. You should'nt have mentioned that to her. Your gonna scare her you know? Let her experience what she would experience. You may have altered some very important things within her, Perhaps she wouldn't have never felt physical pain going in, but now maybe thats changed. And now shes not going to give 100% because she was already afraid coming in and now that fear is multiplyed by 10.

I firmly beleive one should know what they are getting into if you can.

The topic came up, the question was asked, and in my experience the dream world can be dangerous, as can OOBE, I am not the type to butter things up.

I am sorry if what I have said freaked you out blissfull. :(

I dont think its a bad thing that one can feel pain in dream. We learn and grow from it and like I said there is much good that is also present.

I agree with Seri..he pretty much said it. Its not scaring somebody, its warning somebody of the possible dangers, its only good that one knows whats out there, but then, you dont have to belief what we are saying do you? ^_^

Now, what Serinanth said did spook me but what hasn't spooked me? I appreciate the concern Shadownightwing expressed (that's so sweet that you think I might get scared off and you know what.. YOU'RE RIGHT).

However, Serinanth is right.. there's no such thing as life without good and bad. Our awake life is so difficult. Our world is filled with shitty people. I mean just mean assholes walking around doing nothing but putting people down just so they can feel better about themselves. You know that bumper sticker that says: Mean People Suck!! Amen to that. Soooooooooo...... if there's good and bad in waking life why wouldn't there be the same thing in another dimension?

I have been reading and researching nonstop since Jan. 1st. I'm currently researching OOBE's.

Question: Serinanth, when you said you fell in love.. fell in love with what? A person from your spirit world? I don't get that? Can you get attached to things not of this waking life? If you do, isn't that what is dangerous? Attaching yourself to things you can't possibly share with people in your waking life?

The only diffirence between the bad stuff over here and there is that the darkness over there is natural. Over here its just stupid. A demon is evil by nature, a human is not. Thats the diffirence..thats why I hate the shit over here more then over there..

I cant speak for Seri, but I know for one does get attached to things over there..VERY MUCH. Its something that seems to differ per person, most perons dont seem to experience it as a true second world..
First of all you need to ask yourself the question, what do you belief? Do you think the dream world is your own mind, something up your head that does not truely exist..or something that is an actual other plane of existance most of us ignore..it starts with that.

Its only natural you get attached to persons(spirits) if you belief it is a secon reality and live a double life. Wether this is dangerous or not...beats me, it also depends on what you think is bad for you..
But I gues im rambling here, you asked seri anyway so ill shut up now ^_^

Evil is not my way to go into this. Only the loving light for me please.

The light is warm, and comforting. It is there and when you find it and wrap yourself in it.... its just good.

I would disagree with lucius here, people can also be evil in nature sometimes.

In my experience I have had to explin to people in the dream realm about this place where we are now, of course its just a dream only in my head to them, it works both ways, the rules are different this place has much more continuity and strict physical laws, I beleive that both places are very real but both are very different its like comparing apples and computerchips.

You must find balance between the two its hard at times but when you do find that fine line you will make the most progress.

so in that dream I was startled awake and they had told me she died, I basically went mad with grief I couldent think all I did was feel, its posted in one of my lucid experiences.

If you are a proponent of the light then I wholly welcome you even more!, it will be nice having another that knows its importance. more later I gotta werk =)

And thats the way you should go into this. You gotta keep a clear mind and don't worry about whats evil. I don't have Nightmares because I don't concern myself with the evil works of this society although Im aware that they exsist Im not going entertain the thought of it. hrmm...blissful, you said you believe in God yes? well im jus gonna go ahead and assume alot of stuff, but generally speaking people who say God (as opposed to Allah or Gods etc.) are either Christian or Jewish...this being said, OOBEs (at least in the dreaming sence) arent considered real by the mainstream of these religions...obviously your viewpoint may differ, but one thing to remember about lucid dreaming is it is in your head (even if you say demons get into your dreams, they are demons trying to get into your head, and even if you believe in alternate dimensions thru the dream world, you have to remember that it is your mind that is allowing you to temporarily exist there)...this being said, you can tell your mind to feel or not feel anything, and if you have the willpower it will be so...this includes real life, many monks have done the whole meditating in a freezing stream without feeling cold, thats cause they told their mind to not feel it...anyway enough rambling, the point is, nothing can hurt you or stress you or make you feel anything, that you dont allow to hurt you or stress you etc. anyway, have fun, and happy dreaming lol

Evil is only a label we give to things - something that humans have created... eg devil.

nature is not evil. nature just does - like energy.

lessons are taught not because we deserve them, but because we *need* them.

I used to be a Born Again Christian but not anymore (as I don't believe in religion) and to quote Madonna in her American Life song from her album American Life: "I'm not a Christian, I'm not a jew, I'm just living out the American Dream and I just realized that NOTHING.. IT WAS IT SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMS".

Because I'm new and still researching, one has to think about everything, the good, the bad and the evil before getting into anything you know very little of. To me, it's the smart thing to do. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. To be forwarned is to be forearmed!!! (and all that jazz)

I had another LD last night. I took the tip from you guys of looking at your hand and I did that (it had a hole in it) and I said "I'M DREAMING!!" and tried to fly, but get this, I was only a few inches above ground, so I got frustrated because I couldn't catch a lot of air so I commanded a jet type object that I sat on top of and zoomed to the sky. And guess what.. I got bored and woke myself up. I GOT BORED???? Flying was just not enough (but I'm taking the power bit by bit and slowly. I don't want to get greedy ya know.

Maystar, Welcome!! :cheers: what you have said is also incredibly true, nature IS. Alot of people think that s ay all those forest fires in the western USA are a horrible thing... ITs a part of a much larger cycle that we arent even close to understanding, its a part of nature and it has a very important role.

And Blissful, I think that is what sets us apart from alot of these online forums, most everyone here seems to follow the rule =)

Try to believe in it more. What helps me is closing my eyes and picturing myself taking off in a stationary position, Usually when I do that I can feel myself leaving the ground. Starting off trying to fly is always hard. But controlling it is easy once you get enough altitude going. Good Luck!
