so this happens to me a lot i will be going to sleep then i will have like a thought that is like a dream and im not aware of whats happening then like in that thought i will fall off like a curb or something and i will feel it then open flinch and wake up
so is this sleep paralysis?
Not so far as what the normal definitions are I believe.
Sleep paralysis is (so far as I understand, feel free to correct me anyone) a almost purely biological condition. When you dream your body takes certain steps to ensure that you don't injure yourself by acting out your dreams -- namely, sleep paralysis. On occasion, we wake up when this is still in place, and find ourselves awake, but unable to move.
What you are describing sounds more like a simple reaction to a dream, or what I've heard explained by the body's blood pressure dropping whilst we fall asleep, which makes it feel as though we are falling which triggers a burst of adrenaline and causes us to wake.
As tricky as it is, try not to focus so much on the falling asleep. All that apprehension will just keep you more awake.
That's not true, you DON'T get Sleep Paralysis each night, you are confusing it with REM Atonia.Quote:

REM Atonia is like a NON-lucid dream, where you everytime get it, but you don't control it or feel it.
Sleep paralysis is like a LUCID dream, where you are conscious while your body is getting the paralysis (REM Atonia).
So, you can say that Sleep Paralysis is a conscious REM Atonia.
