Well, you would need to stabilize the dream for that, there are many ways to do that, like rubbing your hands, focusing on something, touching something, etc, etc.
I agree with Walms, to sustain an LD you should keep rubbing your hands, or doing RCs. Be sure to keep alert and focused, if you get carried away by something or get caught up by a DC, you'll lose lucidity. Also try not to get over stimulated. If you get extremely excited, scared, or emotional it can make you wake up or lose lucidity.
