Possible...? <----(vague title)

Hey, this may sound a bit stupid, but since I'm still fairly new I just have to ask...

Not that I practice either of these (except impromptu), but do you suppose its possible to Meditate / Self Hypnotise in a Lucid Dream?

Im just figuring that each of these requires a very relaxed body. If you are asleep then thats probably as relaxed as you are able to get...

From what I hear, LDing is a lot like hypnosis (access to subconscious, etc.) but what if you started a session in your dream, completely blocking out your entire dream and slipping into deep hypnosis / meditation.

There's bound to be a practical benefit that you cant reach with normal hypnosis / meditation, but ill be damned if i know what it would be.

I think it's possible to plant suggestions in your subconscious during an LD, but I would think that it would be very difficult. Maintaining lucidity often requires focus (for some) and the process of trying to meditate or hypnotize yourself may cause you to lose lucidity. I think you'd be better off asking a more experienced LDer, but that's just my take.

I haven't done this myself, but a rather advanced friend of mine does it on regular occassions. It works like a charm, but I dunno if he was able to stay in the dream for it. Probably not. The benefits of this method would probably be getting to deeper meditation/hypnosis faster.
