Hiya, dreamers!
Hello everybody. English is not my native language (I'm Brazilian!) so I might make some mistakes. If you don't understand something I've said, please tell me so. Sometimes it's a bit hard to "convert" some expressions...
Actually, this is more just like a topic that you guys can know a little about me.
So, I've been always fascinated by dreams, and they are my strongest source of inspiration. I plan to become a writer, you see :D
There was a time I was able to 'easily' notice if it was a dream, but most of the time, I was too lazy to do something about it or I was prone to losing control of it.
Recently I've started studying ALL day long, from 7 to 7, and I have to wake up/go to sleep pretty early. That is, when I'm free from any homework :)
When that happens, I usually go to bed as early as possible, to have enough time to try to become lucid, but I have some troubles...
The technique I found less complicated was WILD for some reason. As for MILD... I don't know. Maybe it just doesn't work with me.
I've always wanted to try WBTB but I have the "getting up early" problem. The thought of sleeping less, even if maybe a little, makes me shudder! Sometimes, even if I go to bed a bit later, I spend my whole day feeling like excrement :P Haha.
So I think about trying it on weekends (but again, I only have saturday-to-sunday, since I also have to wake up early on Satudays).
Then, OK!¹ I get some time to have a try. However...
The twitches. Oh my gosh, the twitches! Well, I can't say they are entirely involuntary. It goes like this:
I suddenly have a strong urge to move. The areas most affected are my hands and feet. That may be 'cause I have the habit of cracking them and closing them very firmly, since sometimes I feel like they're just going to rot and fall!
But then I try my best to ignore it. If I'm successful, though, either only my legs or my whole body simply JUMPS without my command! Sometimes that happens even when I'm not trying to have a LD.
That usually causes me to give up, because I can't concentrate properly.
Then, OK!² At least I tell myself I'm going to be able to remember them. If I have to wake up at 5:45, I set the alarm clock to 5:40, so that I have some time. But I wake up so tired already that I can't focus on remembering. I just wanna go back to sleep or think about something else. I'm embarassed to tell you what is it, but no matter where I am, if I'm a bit sleepy and I think about it, I 'faint' (Brazilian expression for 'sleeping suddenly and deeply' ;)) in the next few minutes. Although it helps, I must admit I have to stop it :?
Maybe what I need is some relaxation/concentration techniques?
I understand that perhaps the solution is a little more motivation, but, I kinda needed to tell someone who knows about the subject. Tell me also if you have the same problems, and how did you overcome them.
Therefore, thanks for your attention!

:welcome:
If you don't have time to spare at night to get up, I wouldn't suggest WILD. You're going to lose sleep with WILD, it's inevitable. Instead you could use DILD. That way you don't have any loss of sleep, because everything you need to do for DILD you can do during the day. You could still try WILD on Sunday.
If you want to give MILD another try, you could try to improve your prospective memory. With a good prospective memory your chances of getting a lucid dream with MILD are greatly increased.

wow, long post for being a "hello, i'm new" post.
nice that you find WILDing the easiest, that's what most people are after (having a WILD)
Would like to see you around :)
