newbie coming in for a landing!!

Hello all,

I happened upon this site quite by accident, and am glad for it. I've on and off tried having lucid dreams (unsuccessful as yet). But have been able to recall dreams in the past, but never really practiced it religeously.

And I have to say "my goodness," what a plethra of information that exists here. As I stated earlier I'm glad to have stumbled across this site and hope to be able to at least start posting a dream journal and eventually achieve lucidity.

Thanks ahead of time for suggestions or insight somone may have when I'm able to start posting dreams. This sounds like it'll be a fun/cool place to post.

Lucid dreaming's kind of a hidden gem; not many people know about it. There is a lot of stuff on it though, if you're willing to look. :)

Remember to keep a dream journal and recall even tiny bits of dreams you can remember, as well as practicing spontaneous awareness. Randomly stop what you're doing and ask yourself, "am I dreaming", then do a reality check.

My tidbit of advice would be to explore everything that DV has to offer. Spend a little time in each forum; as your knowledge grows in the mutliple conversations related to dreaming, so too will your familiarity with lucid dreaming.

Thank you Puffin and Moonsong. There's a lot to digest here - one hardly knows where to begin, but nonetheless, I'm beginnin'. The randomly stopping to do a "reality" reality check, is something I have trouble comprehending. I understand the concept of preprogramming the subconscious into doing something will in subcinsciousness (sp?/word?). It's just doing it.

Hey! Even figured out how to post a dream journal in the new system. Thought for a minute I wasn't going to to be able to post because the system still has me as a "lurker". Guess I'll have to get that changed.
