Well first off my name is Theodorous, I came across dreamviews while researching some dreams I have been having, what I didn't realise is that there are many websites devoted to something called Lucid dreaming.

I've spent the last few hours reading over the site and i've got a few questions.

If a dream becomes 'lucid' when you first realise a dream, then i've been having these dreams almost everynight since I can remember, I don't know how but in my dreams I always know what is real and what is not without knowing how, it's as if I remember going to bed and my brain is telling me that it knows i'm still asleep. I've managed to control one or two of my dreams for a short duration, but i've never managed to take full control. I'm hoping to learn how, but as I recall most of the time my brain is fighting itself in my dream, for example a week or so ago I had this dream where I was walking up my drive to my front door, I check my pockets and I realise my key has gone, so I concentrate really hard and I check my pocket again and the key is there, so I put it in the door but it doesn't work, then everything starts to blurr and all the color drains out of the environment and the dreamworld falls apart, has anyone ever had anything like this before where your brain is fighting itself?

So, by your brain fighting yourself, do you mean that things aren't happening the way you want them to, since the key didn't fit? If that's what you mean, then yes, that happens to the best of us :?. Next time, there are even more creative responses to that problem that you didn't try. If that dream was lucid, and you wanted to go in, there are countless ways that you can get in. Expect the door to be unlocked, just walk through it without thinking as if you were invisible, teleporting in, etc...One thing that is good to know is that there are many creative ways to solve your lucid problems, think outside of the box. You won't always be able to do that, I know. In many of my lucids I just go along with one thing, perhaps it was set up for me previously, or maybe I just go along with it without thinking of the possibilities. It's like you have a "one track mind" in some lucids.

Well you might have heard of this before but I'll tell you anyways. I've heard that when you're lucid if the dream starts to end or get hazy, or if you start losing control then you can look down at the ground and start spinning. This usually keeps the dream going and sometimes you can use it to change the dream. For example you could spin and think of yourself as being behind that locked door. When you finish you might just be inside, that way you don't even need a key in the first place and the dream is saved. Lucid dreaming is a skill and you get better at it with practice.
