Attained sleep paralysis...now what?

So last night I was listening to binaural recordings designed to induce LDs on my iPod. I entered SP for the first time. I saw colorful lights and patterns, and became to feel a change in temperature. I felt a floating, spinning sensation. My breathing started to speed up. I tried to relax, because I had read that "adrenaline is a dream-killer" and supposed this would apply to SP as well. It took me a while to calm myself down, though. Then soon after, the colors and sensations stopped. I waited a bit, but nothing happened. Finally I opened my eyes and did a RC, in hopes it was a FA. Unfortunately, it wasn't.

So, once I get into SP, what exactly should I do? Should I just wait? How do I calm myself?

Its worth remembering if you are trying to enter a lucid dream via the WILD technique at night you will likely run into problems as your body isn't ready to enter the REM stage of sleep, this can often cause you to wake up rather than enter a lucid dream after SP.

However assuming you're doing this as part of a WBTB method, or before a nap in the afternoon, you should slowly start to see the colours flowing in front of you start to take the form of objects and scenes, this will be a bit patchy at first so just try to stay in teh relaxed passive state, just let it happen. If you saty relaxed and focused, these visulaised objects and scenes will gradually become a full dreamscape, at this point you should be able to 'step into the dreamscene'. Do a RC to confirm you're in the dream, and there you are!

Two lucid dreams so far! I'm so happy. One was really long and was the first I'd ever been able to stabilize. It was amazing. Thank you so much!
