Hey DV I just have a quick question that I'm sure has been asked before but I couldn't find anything. Is it possible to WILD right when you go to sleep? Or do you HAVE to sleep 4-5 hours first? Thanks!:?

It's known that we do, in fact, have nREM dreams, which also means that we can have nREM lucid dreams. However, it is extremely difficult to WILD before any prior sleep. It's been done before, but it's not very likely.
Thanks for your quick reply hazel, how long should I sleep before attempting a wild, 4 hours?
4-6 hours is a good amount of time, depending on how long you have to sleep.
Hazel i think i handfull(bunch of) NREM dreams but they are kinda different from normal dreams. You see the scene, feel it but you're not really part of the action. you are there but you control it from a different point of view. anyways it might have been just me and a very vivid piece of HI :D
In yoshis wild tutorial he said step 2.5 to be backwards blinking, what's that?
i think it was reverse blinking but i don't know what it is though. Somebody care to enlighten us? :D
Reverse blinking is where you close your eyes for about five seconds, and open them very quickly, only long enough to focus on one thing before closing them again (think less than a half a second and you should be good). It's like blinking, but the opposite!
Also, if you are EXTREMELY tired, it's much easier to get into a WILD right off the bat. Your body is so tired that it often needs more "deep" sleep, like REM, which helps.
Most of the "straight to bed" WILDs are when people purposely deprive themselves of sleep, or got home from a 14 hour work day on their feet the whole day.
nREM dreams are certainly not as vivid as REM dreams (at least not in my experience); I also often find that I have a third person view during these dreams. Not always, but a good bit of the time. Regardless, it is still possible to become lucid during them.Quote:

As for reverse blinking:

Reverse Blinking
Get comfy and relaxed. Close your eyes. Now, every 5 seconds or so open them quickly, only long enough to focus on something then close them. It's like blinking in reverse. Your mind doesn't have time to wander but the bizarre thing is you can tumble into trance, and your body relaxes at an incredible rate. Before long, your eyes are heavy and it's almost a struggle to open them. You are completely unaware of how deep you are going until you stop opening them (you stop opening them when you feel you could fall asleep). When you do stop, you feel you are falling into an abyss - it's easy to hold, you are fully alert and it doesn't take forever.
I thank everyone for their quick and helpful replys. :)
